1- McMahon (delist)
2- Hislop (delist)
3- Thomson (delist)
4- King (delist)
5- White (delist)
6- Polak (delist)
7- Graham (delist)
8- Tuck (delist)
9- Simmonds (retired)
10- Cousins (retired)

agree with this. you could easily add 7.those 7 are likely the ones to be offered up for trade, i reckon 10 will be abouit it for this yr.

i think depending on what they trade for graham will be kept, hes now doing simmonds job short term as it is.
cousins may be allowed to go around again and tuck based on performance may get a reprieve. all are neither here nor there if they dont go this yr it will be the following.some one else will go this yr take your pick theres plenty to cho ose from and they will be gone soon enough.

it could be 10 this yr followed by 8 or 10 the yr after.

players i would be looking to trade mcguane edwards morton jackson rance tambling polo. all may or may not have some value.

i think hardwick has done most things right its easy to see where hes coming from. but imo yr 1  is the easy bit. we are coming off a spoon i think most thinking people would have cut deep  and achieved some sort of improvement
.

at seasons end we will see if hardwick can take hard decisions and do whats needed or we will see if he will be like wallace.
we can all remember 04 surely. a wooden spoon a decent clean out and then silly buggers and no tough decisions made by anyone.

if we operate anything like hawthorn when hardwick was there, and hes using pelchens system of grading  as a  model there will be little doubt another 8 to 12 will go.

Got a feeling you may be disappointed come the years end claw.

Cant see Tuck being delisted.
If the decision was made now I doubt white would go, but that could change in time.
Very unlikely graham will be traded. I couldn't see anyone giving us a better ruckman for him, so unless another player trade can bring in an upgrade he will most probably stay.
King could be the smokey to get a reprieve (a decision to drive every one beresk) The last few weeks he has been sound without the clangers he can produce. If he keeps that up you never know, but a lot can happen before the years end.

Hardwick has said to judge him on what he does with the established players rather than the recruits.

In a short time we have seen improvements in tuck, edwards, white, graham, and even king, to a lesser extent. Newman is also starting to stand up as captain. Connors looks like he has responded to his kick in the bum - a bloke that if delisted at the end of the last year barely anyone would have noticed him gone.

Yeah they still have a way to go but the improvements have been there and if that continues a lot of people are gong to find players they have written off due to performances under Wallace still being on the list next year.

Just a question claw.

Are there any circumstances where Hardwick could do something different to what you want, where you will not criticise him? Is it possible that his experience in AFL football and intimate knowledge of the players could mean that perhaps sometimes, just on the odd occasion, he knows a little more than yourself, or any of us, for that matter?

Too early to call on a few.

McMahon
Simmonds
Gone

Polak, Hislop, Thompson, King all need miracles but may get chances.

Tuck, Cousins I think will scrap in but age may hurt them. Hope they can keep a spot a warrant it with experience.

White has probably done enough to stay another year, ahead of the 6 above that would be delisted before him.
'
Graham will stay 100%

I agree with this Pope.

McMahon and Simmonds are 100% gone.

The one I think that also will be gone is Morton, we'll trade him and a top side will grab him. You can expect 40-50 goals from him, but don't expect any defensive work.
And you may not think I care for you

Well for all we know Gilligan might be gone.  Gourdis should cement his spot in the team (hopefully) after being elevated.  I'd like to keep Roberts on the rookie list so that we can see what he can do with a full pre-season under his belt.

Who else would you suggest?

I don't think we'll get another clean out like we did last year, especially with the compromised drafts coming up
Probably another 6-7 at the end of this year, with another 6-7 the year after. That is still 26-28 players over a 3 year period, which is 3/4 of the list.

IF WE ARE SERIOUS  we need to trade players with currency to get good draft picks

so add foley and jackson to that list

maybe we can offload rance to the eagles or doggies also

In his interview On The Couch, Dimma said we need outside mids.  I assume he was talking about using pick 4 on an outside mid and probably one or two others.

Jordie, Jake & Sloppy must be on the cusp.  We probably need a backup inside mid, dunno if Thommo can fill that role.

I think we also need to swap out another two smalls for talls on the list to balance things up, so two out of Nahas, Cuz, Deano, Titch and Collo would have to go.

no way would i get rid of Nahas ...plus why do we have to get rid of ten? and i highly Doubt we will get rid of ten man .. dimma wants to win games next year not start over again.

we need experience for our young side we have got the potential to be very good and droping ten guys who could still be dimonds in the rough (White,Connors) :gotigers

Where does this idea of trading away "players with currency" come from?

If you continually trade players that are any good you will go no where. It's not like we have a surplus of any one type of player that is any good.

Being a bottom of the ladder side we wont have too many players, if any, that the club doesnt rate, yet someone else does and thus are willing to give us something decent for them.

 ???  ???

Does this attitude come about because we are so used to seeing players show a bit of promise and not come on as we would hope?

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

Ah yes, Rance.  Maybe a straight swap for Mitch Brown?  They both get to go back to their home state.

Exactly al.

For every Judd, Murphy and Gibbs, you need a Simpson, Carrazzo and Scotland.

Sorry mate  :lol

You need 7-8 players to rotate through the midfield, and i've never heard of an excellent 8 or super 7, but a fab 4. 4 stars and 3-4 more very capable players.

I agree Infamy. Given the improvement in many of the players and the next two drafts being serverly compromised, I think 6 or 7 would be realistic and yet still a good cleanout of the next two years. We are running out of older and/or underperforming players with the only definite selection for mine being at this point McMahon, Simmonds, Polak, Cousins, King and Thomson with the rest of year deciding the fate of Polo, Hislop and White from the list.
