He was right on the money about Riewoldt.  The guy was totally disinterested in what the assistant coach had to say.

Not the worst but certainly the weakest.

Agree on that and as a result statistically this season we will be on par or worse than Fitzroy of 95-96.

Crap Jack, I have watched numerous games on Fox this year including every Richmond game and he hates us end of story. Last night in particular he wasn't even getting excited when we were kicking goals but gee the tone in his voice changed when the Dorkers starting winning. It is not the first time he has done it this year either. You tell me to go and watch more games, perhaps you sould watch more Fox and actually listen to the one eyed commentators, including Healy. The best one last night was Jacko!!!

BTW people NO we are not the worst, I am not sure how young some of you are but I can tell tell you that when G Ablett senior was playing we were dead set poo. I can remember sitting at Kardinia Park watching G Ablett tear us apart and we had a very experienced side.

We are not crap we are young and developing!!!!

This side reminds me of the sides in 1989 and 1993. Probably more 1989. It has some promising youngsters but a long way to go

"No" - this isn't the worse Richmond team i can remember.

the 2004 team during the second half of the year was "the worse" Richmond team.

Its nearly the worst.
Compare Freos first gamer Fythe compared to ours,
We are dreaming
Fyfe was pick 20 in last year's draft. So unless Jack you want us to hand back Martin (#3) or a KPP in Griffiths (#19) then we had no chance of getting Fyfe with our latter picks. If you want to be critical then selecting a jockey-sized kid like Hicks with our first rookie pick ahead of Barlow who is just 22 years old can be rightly questioned.

Btw Freo aren't a young side despite what the media say. Just look at the side that played us. They have a substantial senior core. Practically their spine - FB, CHB, Ruck and FF - are 27 years or older FFS.

29 Tarrant (224), Hayden (107)
-----------------------------
28 Pavlich (218 ), McPharlin (156), Haselby (193)
27 McPhee (172), Sandilands (140)
26 Crowley (83)
25 Johnson (89), Duffield (50)
24 Mundy (113)
23 Broughton (20)
-----------------------------
22 Ballantyne (13), Barlow (5), Silvagni# (5)
21 Mayne (27), Van Berlo# (4)
20 De Boer# (20)
19 Hill (27), Pearce# (10)
18 Fyfe (1), Morabito (5)

And here's us last week by comparison without a senior core. Two 30 year olds who will retire and just 4 others above 23 y.o.

31: Cousins (256), Simmonds (195)
-----------------------------
28: Tuck (113)
27: Newman (158)
26: Moore (70)
25: -
24: Foley (85)
23: McGuane (58), Tambling (100)
------------------------------
22: Deledio (111), Nahas (22)
21: Collins (12), Edwards (52), Riewoldt (51)
20: Rance (18), Farmer (7), Nason (5)
19: Cotchin (30), Vickery (14), Astbury (2)
18: Martin (5), Dea (2), Taylor (2)

1989 had a few ageing premiership stars in Roach and Lee who were well passed it and Weightman who was still a gun and still getting selected to play for the Vics in State of Origin. The rest of the squad were youngsters as we were virtually dead broke and we could not afford anything else. As a result we had the worst side on the park back then. Heck our no 1 pick in Lounder was more at home leaning on goalposts than leading for marks.

As i have said statistically we are worse now as we will be lucky to win 2 or 3 games this year but we are a better side. If you delve through the team lists of the Bartlett era you will find more nobodies who amounted to nothing compared to the current crop who still have heaps of improvement left.

Only Free and Knighter made it till 95. Lambert, Barry Young, Trent Nichols and Peter Wilson were at other clubs. Geez you would have to reckon we're better off than that now.

After  more thought on the topic,we're still the worst team of all time.
Watch ,how tomorrow they haplessly carve themselves to bits while
leading us to believe there really is no game plan.
