no point tanking now. Chance has passed
West Coast are doing a fair job of it. So much for Woosha says they won't finish last just 3 weeks ago .
Thing with West Coast is they either finish high up the ladder or low on the ladder none of this no mans land unlucky ninths as we have had in the past. This recent talk of Wooshas job on the line and Eagles not finishing last is just a smokescreen IMHO. They did it in 2001 and 2002 and they will do it again this year. The board is aware of it and are accepting of it. In 03 and 04 they gained the experience in 05 06 and 07 was the years they had legitimate claims and the cycle of rebuild restated in 08 when Cuz was suspended and Judd was bought off by Satan.
I believe that these losses will continue until as such time as they can be sure that they will finish on the bottom of the ladder. At least with us we were genuinely struggling to come to terms with anything in the first 7 weeks whereas W Coast once realising the finals were no longer in reach are just getting flogged week in and week by margins that we experienced earlier in the year without as much as giving a yelp in a side that still has a number of premiership players in it. A narrow loss to us tomorrow can put them bottom but only if it the match is very high scoring.
Their run home is quite difficult also and I expect them to get quite a few more floggings. Unless our cubs start getting tired towards the end of the season and both clubs remain anchored on 3 weeks I expect right now as things are with the way both clubs are currently performing that we will finish second from bottom behind Melbourne. Crazy scenario considering 6 weeks ago we were still winless and had a % of barely 50.
