You'd hope so. We didn't do ourselves any favours getting flogged again by Carlton two weeks ago  :P but our second half of the year has been promising and today was a reminder to the AFL that we can pull a great crowd. I'm guessing it'll be a Carlton home game in round 1 next year as we've had the past two as home games. If we do keep our Thursday night season starter with the Blues then we need to be competitive at least next year to keep it for 2012 and beyond.

if its a carlton home game i would be telling the AFL we dont want it, give it to someone else

we dont need the hype and build up anymore, give it to someone else.

I personally cant understand why the AFL dont give it to the Grand finalists of the year before. They deserve to kick start the year.

I agree Daniel.
I think it would be good to go "under the radar" in rd 1 2011

Until we can handle the hype of the big games and start to win them we will never be any good or earn any respect from our opposition.  We need to keep playing them to keep learning from them and keep testing ourselves - no point in running away.

Agree Smokey, at some point in the journey we have to win games that count.
Imagine the kick start to players confidence levels if we beat the blues r1 next year?

GOLD Coast will have to wait until Round 2 next year to make its AFL debut, league chief operating officer Gillon McLachlan today revealed.
McLachlan said the Suns would host Richmond at the Gabba in its first home-and-away outing.

The Tigers will play Carlton to launch the 2011 season.
