* September 09, 2010 12:54PMINXS will be the headline act in a high-class entertainment line-up for the AFL Grand Final.
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is also on the bill.
Meanwhile Advance Australia Fair will be performed by father-son combo Cam and Taylor Henderson, the Geelong pair who rose to fame through Australia's Got Talent.
But it will be three songs by INXS and front man JD Fortune that are likely to blow away the 100,000-strong crowd ahead of the season decider.
The band was locked in by a deal struck between the AFL and Carlton Draught.
It will be second time around for INXS, who played at the 2001 Grand Final.
Guitarist Kirk Pengilly said 15 years after the death of front-man Michael Hutchence, it was humbling that the band was still in demand.
"It's a big buzz and what keeps you coming back and is really addictive," he said.
"We are really excited and honoured to have been asked to do it.
"I'm actually a Melbourne boy, a Hawks fan. We are really looking forward to playing.
"I'm not sure I can say what songs we will be performing, but basically one of them is very apt to AFL."
Music boss Michael Gudinski will again be involved in pulling the pre-match entertainment together.
"It's a very difficult event to perform at, given the different age groups," Gudinski said.
"So to have an act like INXS playing their well-known hits is a terrific outcome."
The stage will again be set among the fans after the success of the concept last year where veteran Aussie rockers John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes entertained the crowd.
