Of all of Greg Murphy's sponsors i would have thought Castrol would be the one worth chasing, but they already sponsor a lot of the racing world.

If Holden or Toll were the new sponsor i'm guessing the Toll HRT team would have been involved.

Be a real coup if Holden is involved though, maybe they could paint that blimp of theirs Yellow and Black??

Toll is internationally owned and one of the largest logistics company in the world and by far the largest in Australia.
These days i would value Toll over Holden (as an indepentend from the GM group).
As i believe the Toll HRT team is sponsored by Toll because they dont have GM backing as such, they only have approval.

Toll own a stake in Virgin Airlines so im not sure that would be allowed.

Actually it is probably a good thing we have named any new sponsors this week - would get lost in the photo crap that is going on

having said that I reckon the AFL would love it if we or anyone made some sort of anouncement just to put the focus briefly back on footy

Unless our new sponsors are two of Kodak, Canon, Olympus, Sony, JB HiFi, Ted's, ... lol

Seriously if the new sponsor is after maximum exposure when it's finally announced then we'll be waiting till nearly February  :-\ with many people on holiday over Christmas and through January.

Word on twitter from RT_73 is the announcement this week (tomorrow) will just be about a minor sponsor confirming Signet as polo-sleeve sponsor. The new major sponsor doesn't want to announce theirs until 2011.

From peejay on BF:

"I can tell you now that the Holden rumour is false.

Have a friend senior at GMH who told me that other than HDT racing, Holden view sports advertising as not worthwhile - they believe that TV , Radio and Print is the way to go for them."

I really doubt it would be the announcement of Signet, KiwiTiger (an inside source on BF) said they were only going to be a "media polo sleeve" sponsor. I don't think we would kick up much a fuss about announcing that. Plus  Blaisee said to "brace ourselves for a huge announcement".

Sleeve sponsors aren't huge are they?

Wanna make a bet  ;) ;D

Besides who to say it doesn't involve more than the media polos? Shorts perhaps or sponsoring the family day or something like that

i know castrol pretty well and would be absolutely staggered if they went with AFL sponsorship, funnier things have happened but people in power are NSW centric to begin and motorsport crazy second
