Word around the traps is that the sponsorship announcements will be made this coming Thursday .

Sponsorship deals to include a combination of TCL and/or Signet and/or Bingle.

TCL which was rumoured on BF is sponsor of Box Hill Hawks btw. Hard to see them sponsor one AFL club as well as the VFL affiliate of another AFL club.

hard to see it when it costs a lot LESS to sponsor a VFL club than an AFL a lot less

when you consider the relativities in terms of media exposure, AFL sponsorship is cheap by comparrison ::)

I've heard a murmur we may have breathed life into the old AIG deal that fell over a few years ago...

Snip!

As we've mentioned before we are only interested in OER and NOT interested in what is/has happened at other forums nor who did/didn't get banned elsewhere :sleep. So please leave it off OER.

Now back to the topic!

If that's the case then we'll be sponsored by the US treasury who now own 92% of AIG's common shares.

AIG sponsored Man U at the time we almost had them at sponsor. The current sponsor of Man U is AON which has a red and white logo and is involved in reinsurance.

Aon would make more sense
Certainly prefer them to most of the other rumoured sponsors  :pray

Yep it would be good PR to be able to say we share a major sponsor with Man U.

Would be wouldn't it.  But the tv worldwide exposure Man Utd would get compared to us in palpable.
What I want from whoever our major sponsor(s) are is a good deal for the club in terms of dollars at something well over a million possibly even nudging two. The size of the deal I feel would be a reflection of where we may be perceived off field in terms of our development and whether we will be seen as taking the next step and hence more free to air tv exposure.

Assuming the deal announced on Thursday is for three years if we improve each season and by the end of 2013 we are a top 4 side based on the average age of our side we may be up for a huge deal after that that in today's terms could be worth 5 million a season.

Chutney is very tighted lipped, in a mood   >:(  ;D

Just said an Insurance Co - no names but I doubt very much it is AON

Remember we need a shorts sponsor as well so TCL (if they are coming on board) may have signed for that

We'd have to be known as the Red Bull Tigers.

I'm not sure?

Do they sponsor anyone without actually owning them?
