Judd another 3 votes and Swan, Ablett nil. leads by 5 with just 3 rounds to go

Judd going to hard to toss now.

Should have been suspended after he made Pavlich bleed. I smell a conspiracy.   :chuck

The AFL Golden Child prevails. :chuck

Was not BOG against us in round 20.

It's the umpires award TB.

Barlow Round 1 33 possessions and 2 goals in debut = 0 votes.

Its opinion based. Umpires opinion award. Happier to see someone like Judd win a Brownlow then a Cooney or Goodes.

He's the best player in the comp.

you are wrong Pope. He is the best player at Carlton, not the comp. No where near. Outside the top 5 for me.

The fact that money hungry idiot he won it was a disgrace. The only comfort i get is the look on Eddie's face. That aside those losers who flap their arms around are dumb as dog poo and should not be awarding Brownlow Votes when you have Barlow not getting awardded none for his effort.
That priveledge should go to respected people like Barrassi, Matthews  etc etc who have no bias whatsoever.

We have changed the game in so many areas, some better some not but this needs to be overhauled in a massive way.

How This greedy prick and Goodes, although i like him) won 2 Brownlows is an absolute joke.

this award means nothing if results like last night keep happening

Pathetic

Agree with this, best player in competition is purely opinion based. Judd is better player than Ablett and Swann?

Judd doesn't get rotated like a charcoal chicken like Swan and Ablett gets more handball receives than a Brazzer.com model.

Judd takes a tag every week, has a rubbish young midfield that doesn't protect him. He's the best midfielder in the comp. It's a midfielders medal. It makes sense to me.

I don't know whats funnier, that they took it so seriously or that they are shocked they got shafted.  At least Richmond know and accept they are hated and get shafted lol.  We relished it.  LOL how bright red was Swan my god.  I felt sorry for the primadonna.  Judd looked like a bewilderbeast  and Edelsteins missus was doing a Pura milk ad and I love her, she needs more air time, who cares about the brownlow anyway its rigged.

Do any of the stat machines here know how Dustin compared to other first year players on votes??

It would be interesting to see how it compared to the rising star final standings.

2nd Tiga.  Hannebery got 9 votes (3 x 3).

Edit:  Woops, 3rd actually.  Barlow got 12 (2 x 3, 3 x 2).

Edit #2:  Double woops, 2nd.  Hannebery was a 2nd year player.

Thanks Smokey. IMO Barlow had a great first year. Had he not been injured, He probably would have even polled top 10 in the Brownlow overall.

And while discussing Barlow, here is a great example why I don't trust umpires to have a clue when it comes to choosing the best players.  Round 1 Fremantle vs Adelaide the votes went Sandilands 3, Mundy 2, Pavlich 1.  Here's the stats from that game:

AS - 21 disposals (5k 16h), 4 marks, 33 hitouts, 2 tackles, 0 goals.
DM - 28 disposals (10k 18h), 3 marks, 1 hitout, 0 tackles, 1 goal.
MP - 22 disposals (12k 10h), 1 mark, 0 hitouts, 3 tackles, 3 goals.
MB - 33 disposals (13k 20h), 6 marks, 1 hitout, 4 tackles, 2 goals.

They are either not fair dinkum or just bloody clueless....................or most likely a combination of both.

Understand where you are coming from Smokey but how a player influences the game must be considered which is not always evident in stats.

Not that I am standing up for the maggots I am still filthy on the treatment we received this year.

Fully agree re: the stats Chuck.  I'm not stats-centric but I think they can highlight things missed in general perceptions and when used with those perceptions you are likely to get a much more accurate picture of reality.  However, in the case of the game I used in my example above, there is only one possible way Pavlich's 22 disposal, 1 mark, 3 goal game could have been more influential than Barlow's 33 disposal, 6 mark, 2 goal game and that is because of his name.  We know from watching his season unfold that Barlow did not rack up cheap stats, was not a seagull or downhill skier, he was the real deal so to miss out on a vote while Pavlich got one is just plain wrong.  Umpires knew Pavlich well, didn't have a clue who the first-gamer Barlow was.  And that's why I don't trust their judgment - it's not based fairly.

A magpie supporter pointed out in the paper that Podsiadly polled more votes than Jack R. despite the fact Jack kicked 80 goals and was a regular in mark of the week etc.  Why do people rate this award at all ?  Its by the MAGGOTS!!!  THey are effing useless at the best of times so who gives a eff what they think???  The coaches award carries much more weight imo, even the MVPA.  They should blackball this crap, its just a t-its teeth and a-rse party for the birds anyway.
