Agree FNM

Have family and friends up in QLD who fortunately are effected yet

Our own Julz hope things are to bad down on the Coast

And they've put parts of Victoria in Flood alerts as well, some areas expecting 100+ mils over the next 3-4 days  :o

Hope Julz and Jake are okay.

Sad seeing that footage of the people in that car stuck in the mud in the middle of the swamping water and when the Ch 7 chopper returned with a SES guy to rescue them the car was gone  :(. They are saying at least 24 dead as a result of the floods :(.

...and bushfires in WA just to remind everyone ours is a landscape forged by fire and flood.

a couple of weeks before Christmas near the airport we had 80 odd ml in 1/2 hour and 120 odd ml in 1 hour.  luckily that sort of downpour doesn't cause anywhere the the carnage seen down south.

Good news I've spoken to my sister-in-law in QLD and she and the peanuts are OK and currnetly don't need to move to higher ground

But she said the situation is being closely monitored

And then as mentioned by al ealrier the fires in WA - was just reading about it 100kms or so from Perth they reckon

Apparently the fire in WA was caused by an English and South African tourist spit-roasting a didgeridoo
Totally ignored the park warning signs
Maximum $200k fine each they reckon
Some people  :nope

Thanks for the concern folks.

Absolute hysteria up here. I live maybe 500m from the river at the moment, and though it is high it has a long long way to go until it affects properties. But some people are carrying on like its armageddon. Shop shelves are clearing as suburban mums and dads do their shopping before battoning down the hatches,.

Be glad when its all over.
