Toppstar registered in June 2009 so has some claim to longevity.

Swiz registered yesterday. Not sure what that means.

Not much assuming both are genuine Tiger fans.
Given this will be only available to RFC members then yep they'll have to be genuine Tiger fans. Welcome aboard OER toppstar and Swiz.

I know it's late notice but if there's still a spare spot free RFCO then I wouldn't mind tagging along. I've sent you an email.

This year will be my 15th consecutive year as a member so i'm as genuine as anyone at the function!

You don't need to justify your support mate to anyone. You wouldn't have even joined the forum if you weren't a passionate Tiger fan.

Great to have you posting. Hopefully you'll join in the crazy banter on here more now.

I'll see you at the night!

Good for you and congratulations on your support, the club needs every supporter it can get.

Still doesn't change my opinion on preference for our (OER's) spots being given to forum members who have a history of posting.  The whole idea of the night apparently, is to listen to and engage with the supporters and I think those best placed to put their ideas forward will be those that tend to interact and discuss things with other posters on the forums, not those that join up and silently read the posts without ever speaking up on anything.  I'm glad that you're a member of the club and a member of our forum but not one post in > 18 months tells me that there is a fair chance you will sit in on the discussions without having any input - defeating the whole purpose of the night in the first place.  I'm probably wrong and I hope I am but I know from my perspective that I want the club to get 10 posters from each represented forum that will join in, not sit on the sidelines.

While i dont agree with the sentiment, from your last sentence I understand where you are coming from smokey.

Possibly just as important would be to ensure a wide range of age groups attend, but anything else rather that a first in best dressed would create a poo f!ght and probably perceptions of elitism and cronyism.

For some reason i now have an image in my head of a huge punch on at this night, drawn down the lines of what forum they represent. Must be lack of sleep.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Would you be happy if Daniel was part of the fan night?

Who?

 :lol  Just kidding.

Absolutely I would.  We will never all see things the way others do but no-one doubts our common passion for wanting the club to succeed.  Every supporter that attends and involves themselves will increase the benefit to the club that the club is seeking.  Whether that opinion or input conflicts with my own is not the point.  But attending just for attending's sake will be a lost opportunity for the club and that would disappoint me.  Hence my opinion on who should get a chance to attend.

Remember also, that this input and benefit will be a 2-way street.  The club has gone ahead in leaps and bounds recently in it's attempts to connect with it's supporters and the 'flow back' of information to us from a night like this will be huge if those that attend are the types that actively participate in the forums they are seeking numbers from.  The silent lurkers among our forum members cannot be relied on to reciprocate this flow of information back to us - another lost opportunity.

Feedback from those that attend is a monty, for sure.

OK - I can see where you are coming from Smokey. Fair point.

So what have I exactly got myself in for?

Fair enough Smokey and interesting logic - didn't really think about it from that perspective.
It is a "feedback" session so you would like to think that those who turn up are attending on the basis that they have an opinion.

Loads of people jump onto the forums like this to read the "reports" whether it is newspaper or fans - training sessions, match reports etc as opposed to the opinion part of it.

I don't think that being registered on a forum instantly means you must post regularly - or post at all.

Bump.

We have 9 going from OER so there's room for more. A chance for those who are so vocal on here during the footy season after losses  ;) to go into the inner sanctum of Punt Rd Oval and speak and listen to the club for a couple of hours.

waiting to see what the "twist" is.

Do they want DNA samples to mix with Richos and maybe a host mother to breed a few superstar players? :help
