RFCO will have to keep count on how many times poor Benny Gale gets asked about our second major sponsor.

Benny Gale was really good answering questions at the Fan night so it's worthwhile asking him any questions today.

Why do they have a chat in the middle of a working day, even when kids are not home from school FFS?

will the game against port be on tv?

The game will be on ABC Radio via a live stream http://ow.ly/432bp
And we're hoping to have some TV coverage there as well

Should we have anything to worry about re: our front of jumper sponsor?

We have secured great new strong relationships with Bingle, Clive Peeters, ME Bank, Signet in addition to existing business relationships. We are chasing a couple of opportunities in an extremely competitive marketplace and we are confident we will secure a co-major partner that will sit well with the RFC.

Rapt with all you've done so far Brendon, can you let us know your future plans for the website?

The website is currently under the AFL network agreement with Telstra. That deal will conclude at the end of this year, and is also currently negotiating a new 5 year deal along with the TV networks. We will know more once that deal has been finalised.

What is the situation getting into the new social club for social club members?

The new social club we expect will be open for social club members, Round 3 post our first home game at the MCG vs Hawthorn.

[Comment From Guest: ]
hello there brendon , dissapointed to see the rfc give away 2 home games , as members we have not yet been informed of alternative games, would have been nice to crush these 2 sides in our own backyard ,cheers bill

Ideally we want to keep all our home games, but the business case was too important to ignore at this stage. Further, as a national iconic sporting club it gives us an opportunity to promote our club and partners on a national scale. Importantly fans will be compensated by way of two home quasi v St.Kilda and Melbourne. We need to build our club to a position where we never have to consider these arrangements again.

l believe we are on the up,my concerns are for a forward to support Jack how is this going ?

We need to develop more options up forward, not just to take the pressure off Jack Riewoldt but to keep the opposition guessing. Jack is fine and infact I just spoke with him, and as usual he thinks he runs the show. He will be back in a week or two.

How is the Debt going at Tigerland?

The debt is managable, and we have no problem meeting all our obligations. However it limits our ability to make critical investments in football that we believe can improve performance over time, and also limits our ability to invest in new opportunities/ cashflows.

[Comment From shayne: ]
hey big ben! was it difficult to get KB behind the new pledge drive?

Not at all, KB loves the football club and was happy to do anything that he felt could assist the club. Importantly he understands the modern business of football, why the Fighting Tiger Fund is critical to our future and he believes in a strategy. It just cost me a game of golf

[Comment From Mark: ]
Love the way things have been going lately however like many I would love to get my hands on 2011 merchandise as we all know that is dependant on getting our final sponsor signed up, so how far off is it

There's no point releasing merchandise until we secure our other co-major sponsor which hopefully wont be far away.

[Comment From daj: ]
when will the new facility at punt road be opened

For our football department the new facility will be early March and for the rest of the facility will come online late March. Unfortunately the building program has been effected due to significant rain events.

[Comment From Steve: ]
Radio station SEN received a call this morning from an advertising executive, complaining that he left a message for a return call at the club, relating to club sponsor, no one called back??

This was brought to my attention this morning, and I understand that it has been addressed.

I reckon there could be a few such questions put up. I wonder if there will be a response?

Why do they have a chat in the middle of a working day, even when kids are not home from school FFS?

This was brought up at the Fan Night FNM. It's when people are available to be interviewed. Someone suggested 7pm as it is the peak time for the net and could tie in with sponsors/marketing.

Is richmond and hawthorn playing a pratice match in shepperton

It's an option, but unconfirmed at this stage. Once confirmed details will be provided as soon as possible.

What's the current FTF tally?

It's over $100,000 at this stage, with the direct mail campaign hitting peoples letter boxes this week. There will be a running tally on our website from next week.

Thanks for doing this Brendon. I just want to know how the Fighting Tiger Fund is going? Are the Tiger army giving big?

I have been humbled by the response of our members thus far. As I've consistantly stated the most important thing members can do is simply renew their memberships, however if they can part with a few bob collectively that will go along way.

The function scheduled for the 17th March will be one of the most significant events in the history of the Richmond Football Club. I expect it will be a tremendous success.

Hey Brendan I have been really impressed with what you have brought to the club since you became CEO and wanted to say thanks for returning to our great club! Also wanted to ask if you think the players may announce that they will be donating a games match fees to the Fighting Tiger Fund? I think this will really motivate fans to donate more money as it will show them the players care as much as the fans do and are willing to outlay some of their hard earned cash to help the club they love?

Im proud to be leading the club, and feel an enormous sense of resposibility, however I am strengthened by the great team I work along side with and by the strength and loyalty of our members. The players have expressed their willingness to support the Fighting Tiger Fund and I guess that will be confirmed in due course.

What are your thoughts on Live Friday night Football?

Huge supporter of live football, but ultimately its in the hands of the AFL, that's why they get paid the big bucks.

Should we go to round 1 with high expectations?

Like all games we would expect to win.

[Comment From Rob: ]
I would like to know if any plans are going to be put in place for those members who took up the Grand Final Ticket Guarantee, trusting in the good faith of the club that this option would be as 'sold' to us - available each year. I have just found out that my only option to renew it going forward will be via Social Club membership but as I am an interstate member that only gets to a couple of games each year then it is not an option I want or need. And I don't want Country/Interstate membership - I would prefer to support the club with a Full 11 game membership plus my 'promised' GFTG. The club's credibility will take a hit if they adopt this type of 'indian giving' policy.

BG: On the grand final ticket garuantee, we are committed that anyone who purchased it will also have the first chance to re-purchase it. However we also recognise that we under-priced it. To compette on financial terms with the larger football clubs we need to leverage off our most lucrative products, such as the grand final ticket. Some of you would realise that Collingwood were selling this opportunity for $800 per person, we've also attempted to increase the value of the membership by adding it into the social club membership, which now is a more valuable product.

Hi Brendan, what is the timeframe for raising the $6M for the Fighting Tiger Fund and what are the consequences if we don't get the $6M by this time?

The Fighting Tiger Fund is a year long campaign running from the eve of this season to the eve of 2012 season. However its fair to say that most of the action will be concentrated into the next few months. We have nothing to lose in running the campaign, every dollar raised will build our financial strength and our capacity to invest in our football department to the extent that we should.

[Comment From tiger bill: ]
Hi Ben, do you think we can get 50000 members this year?

I think we are a real chance, its an ambitious goal but we are an ambitious club. We have brought members to the very centre of our football club we have raised our levels of customer service, our membership products provide great value and we are communicating much better with our members. With a first class coach, a talented young team there is much to look forward to over the next few years.

Who wouldnt want to be a member?

[Comment From Wayne: ]
The PNG Rookies sound promising, do you think they will make it?

They're a chance, it's an innovative step from our recruiting department. PNG has a significant population right on our doorstep and they have a real appetitie for our game.

[Comment From Shayne: ]
Thanks for your time Brendan. What are current membership levels at?

We are currently at around 34,000 and are quite happy with the way we are travelling, and climbing.

[Comment From Gus: ]
What are the chances of A) a stand-alone VFL side for Richmond, and B) reserves football being played at Punt Rd Oval in the near future?

We are very happy with our allignment with Coburg at the moment. However recent history highlgihts that those teams who have their own reserves teams and full control of the development of their players are more likely to be successful. If we want to be as good as we can be its incumbent upon us to at least put ourselves in a position to consider it. At the moment we are obviously not in a position to consider it because of the investment involved.

With a fully developed Punt Road Oval which will be the same dimensions to the centimetre as Etihad Stadium when completed, it does provide us with an opportunity to return reserve grade football to Punt Road Oval

[Comment From Guest: ]
hi benny, can please advise what plans the board have to do with the money raised from FTF, apart from paying off debt. Thanks

Paying off debt or a portion of the debt is the absoloute priority. After that we will be much better placed to make mission critical investments in footy. These investments would include the need to complete the redevelopment of the Punt Road Oval arena surface which will together with the ME Bank Centre provide an a total elite football facility. The prepayment of TPP over the next few years is an important opportunity, we need to invest in recruiting we need to invest in the development of our players, once we bring them to the club this might include; our own reserves down the track and information systems increasingly important in delivering high performance.

[Comment From Bernie: ]
I asked the membership dept to send me a flyer so I could tackle some of my Tiger mates in Canberra to join but they sent me nothing. I had about ten new members for the Club.

Occasionally the odd request gets overlooked, send through your details including email address and we will address it immediately. Otherwise go to richmondfc.com.au and all the details related to membership products can be found there
