I would hope the club would ensure the ultimate decision is not Chris Newman's

He is no longer in our best 22, last week again proved that.

Clubs have to make tough calls on ageing players every year.

Time has come for the Tigers to make the tough call.

I hope they have the courage to do it

Exactly. How's Geelong flicking Chapman? First season for Essendon averages 20 touches and 1.1 goal/game. Clearly still had a solid 1-2 years left in him - looking worse for wear now but so is the entire team.

And we're letting Newman decide...FMD.

Determined to continue his legacy off utter selfishness and no doubt the club will continue it's legacy of sentimental stupidity and accomodate him. Can't have "Newy" missing out on any future glories.

The only half (emphasis on half, but could be lower)  benefit of Newman on the list next year is that a portion of his salary is outside the cap. Is that still a rule?

Chappies inout to the game over the last 5 years eclipses Neman's.

Yes still in place

But that's not a good enough reason IMHO

Still less selfish than jacko and his finals retirement
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Newman is done and dusted, if he played with the intensity of King Kong, he can play, but he is expecting a game for no reason, he has the intensity of a dead frog and is as fast as a wet Ugg boot full of cement, IMO he was an average leader ( irrespective of what David Confetti believes) and is a passenger that we cannot afford.
Has he seen the movie Old Yeller?, its back paddock time for Newy, he should do the team thing and retire gracefully, preferably now.
