Chris has had a couple of lean years now and the decision making has been ordinary. He is slowing down but that's not unusual for a 30 year old man. If this form continues then a tap on the shoulder may be required although it can be very hard to accept. I hope he can turn things around.

Is he still capable of playing the half back position?  because this is where I see him best suited and not on the wing etc as discussed in the past.

I'm not sure to be honest, with his lack of speed these days I'm afraid the opposition will go through him to create run from wing to HF

Is it possible for hime to play half forward role, simliar to what knights is doing but chris can drill those goals and try to be defensive and lock ball in? If it is his speed we need to look at options for him where speed is not the only factor. What that role is? Im not sure but some of you may have a better understanding and I think he is far too good to just send to the 2's.

Perhaps what I shouldve said was he is too good an option to drop to the twos like that, god forbid tap him on the shoulder cos jees we have so many players that are ready to step up  its clear to me that if the club thought vlastuin etc were ready from rd 1 maybe chris, jackos spot etc may be endangered but obviously not. And until they are ready chris etc will get the gig unless he is woeful or injured. And yes his leadership counts for a lot imo

I may be wrong but id rather make conversation and possibly learn something from it rather than coming on here and burning the place and players down each week.

Newman has been flaws but so do many of the maintains From this season; Grigg. Houli. Jackson. Pettard. King ...

Age catching up with him quickly, could see it last season as well. I don't mind him on the wing, thought he was alright against the Dogs there. Horrible game on the weekend, but wasn't alone.

I can't see this year being his last (in our starting team or not), would expect him to hang up the boots after 2014.

I'd rather 15 disposals and game time into Helbig, than 15 disposals a game from Newman who isn't getting any younger.
