Be interesting how many GC players get nominated.
Hopefully one of our youngsters get a nomination. To early to pick what one has the best chance of getting a nomination at this stage.

Well the media friendly Essendon love in continues this week with Heppell getting the nomination.

I wonder if either Tim Watson or Matthew Lloyd are on the selection committee.

Thought Conca was a chance this week. Wonder if he would have got the gig had we won.

Watched the Essendon game on the box Tucker and Heppell's game was a lot better than Conca's.  Conca was serviceable and for a first game it showed a lot of promise but it wasn't worthy of a nomination.  But he will get one before season's end, I'm confident of that - I'm a fan.

I thought Concas game was worthy of a nomination smokey, but Heppels' was probably more worthy.

You could argue that Heppel had an armchair ride in a dominate side while conca showed a lot of composure under pressure but seeing both games live I don't have a problem with Heppels nomination.

Just one comparison I'd like to make though. At one stage my old man (an essendon supporter) commented that Heppel did not go hard enough in a contest. I think you can forgive a kid playing his first game  for doing that once, but i dont think conca was guilty of that. In fact he displayed the exact opposite by putting his body on the line and getting crunched in one contest.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Fair enough Al, you were at both games so would have had a different perspective.  I just thought Heppell was more 'involved' than Conca - he certainly had more possession - but like you say, it might also have been the 'winning side' factor.

Watched all games on the weekend and would have given my vote to Tapscott. The kid was best on ground in the first qtr by a mile. 11 possesions in your first qtr of footy is sensational.

Pederson's game was also superb for North against Cox as the only ruckman in his first game.

Then I'd have Heppell 3rd in line.

So a few of the boys went out and saw all the games yet the only player that played in a winning side was Dyson Heppell. Sorry I just had to raise that point boys. ;D
I agree he was good too but it did take Dusty a while to get nominated last year even when it was clear he should've and this was weeks after he became ineligible. :-\
