good idea. another thing that will do is force Franklin up the ground, which will relieve some of the pressure on our short defence.
Push up!

I don't agree at all. I would never take my best midfielder and play him on a forward giant like Franklin. Put Deledio on the ball. IMO We need all our best play makers in the midfield to get first use out of middle. If the ball is in our forward 50 then the our boy Jack can give them headaches & the twin towers won't be a problem.

Newman is the man for the job. He is a very good defender. He is much better one on one.

Newman is 13cm shorter and 20kg lighter.

maybe he can carry a milk crate out on the ground with him?

If you play deledio vs Franklin with astbury chb grimes fb back to help him out...

Deledio could get 40 influential possessions

Buddy defensive side of thr game not his strong point v

Newman is Richmond's best defender.Plus he is taller than Brett. He is a good spoiler. Brett would be better playing on Hodge in the middle. Use Brett as an asset.

You're kidding, right? Newman (183cm) is about 5cm shorter than Deledio (188cm) officially according to their listed heights on the RFC website.

Deledio is 6'3 and built like a brick poohouse. Newman would be under 184

Posted on BF by a Bulldogs supporter......

"Just got news from a friend connected to the coaching staff that you plan to play brett on Buddy.

The idea being that he can work him over with his running and make buddy conscious of him going the other way. It also gives some of your younger players a chop out. He will be able to match him on the ground and he will beat any of the other options in the air anyway."
