Round 3 Match Reports Vs, Northern BullantsCoburg Tigers website
April 19, 2011Seniors We met Northern Bullants at the newly renamed Mantello Holden Oval on what was a great day for football.
Bullants started quickly and kicked the first goal, but Mitch farmer who was returning from injury quickly replied and the remainder of the quarter was a bit scrappy with the ball moving between the arcs a lot.
In the second quarter it was basically goal for goal until we let the Bullants get a few late goals and we went into the main break 3 goals adrift.
He third quarter was very similar again to the first but Thornton and O’hailpin were proving a bit of a handful up forward for the Bullants, but Matt Dea was doing a great job on Ahmed Saad who had been dangerous in other games with his goal licking.
We headed into the last quarter just 10 points down and were confident we could over run them but they got the jump on us early in the quarter but we rallied back with goals to Hicks,Carnell and James Lawton with 2 and Tom Derickx started to take some strong marks up forward, but when the siren sounded we went down by 7 points.
A disappointing result, but the positives were Andrew Browne who was dominant in the ruck once again. Ben Clifton did a great job on Ellard, and Jayden Post was dangerous both in attack and also when he was thrown into defence.Nick Carnell once again proved what a valuable player he is to the club also.
We now look forward to meeting Box Hill for the annual Anzac Day clash next Sunday 24th April at Box Hill City Oval.

DEVELOPMENT SQUADThe Development squad had a great win and there were some positive signs to indicate our depth for this year and for the future is good.
Nathan Thomas was effective with his tackling and overall midfield play.
Andrew Duhau was dangerous all day up and around the half forward line and Rowan Hore once again showed that he may not be far away from a senior game if he continues to play the way he has been with his strong marking and goal kicking.Dylan Murphy was elusive around the goals and his is a strong tackler for a player of his size.
Nick Westhoff was a focal target up forward also and Willie Wheeler was effective playing on ball and his clearance work similar to Nathan Thomas set us up with regular forward attacks.
