Daniel Jackson on SEN @ 11.50am

Jacko was just on SEN before the midday news.....

* Our start are the most frustrating thing at the moment. Starting 6-7 goals down means you have to work your backside off and use all your juice just to get back into the game as we did in the third quarter before running out of juice in the last.

* We wanted to match Collingwood in contested footy. If we don't do that we get beaten on the scoreboard.

* We wanted to be attacking. For some reason it takes a quarter to get going and gain the confidence to play that way. Perhaps being a young side is the reason but it's definitely something we need to work on.

* Dermie said 6 of the Pies first 8 goals came from turnovers. The kick to a 50/50 in the corridor is dangerous and that cost us big time in the first quarter. Dermie suggusted perhaps we should play it safer initially until fatigue starts to set into the game and then use those options as the game opens up more.

* Jacko said the plan was to use the lanes and hit-up; not bomb it long which plays into Collingwood's hands.

* The more we can hold onto the ball the more energy we conserve. Over recent years we've spent most of our energy chasing tail after turnovers.

* Suspensions down back have hurt us against the last two weeks. Thought Grimes has done alright and contested well. Thursty was okay first game back. Need midfield pressure to help them. Newy also falls back into the space in front.

* Wallace asked where our 2009 draftees are? Plough said we've seen Conca, Batchelor and Helbig from 2010 but you don't want to get to 2012 and then get in the cycle of having 2011 draftees in the side and no 2010. Jacko replied Farmer's been injured; Dea's playing well at Coburg; Nason has missed footy as well. However in saying that the young guys we've brought in this year have earnt their spot.

* Out of Swan and Pendlebury, Jacko finds Swan harder to play on. Swan is very hard to lock down; plays that gambling footy of running forward and backing his teammates. Pendlebury hangs around the contest more and is a very good user of the footy.
