Out-of-contract Jack Trengove split between Port Adelaide and home Jon Ralph and Mark Stevens

July 07, 2011 PORT Adelaide star Jackson Trengove is torn between loyalty to his club and the huge pull of family and friends in Melbourne, according to his manager.
Out-of-contract Trengove has put off talks until the end of the season and manager Tom Petroro admits he is thinking seriously about a return home.
A raft of Melbourne clubs, including Richmond, would be keen to secure the versatile 20-year-old, who can play as a key tall or a second ruckman.
Stride Sports Management's Petroro told Superfooty's Front & Square that Trengove would be forced to decide between his head and heart.
"Jackson has come and spoken for himself. He is indebted to Port Adelaide for what they have done for him, but he's very close to his family back here. He is in two minds as to what he should do," he said.
Petroro said Trengove would not be pressured into a decision.
"He's in their leadership group and he's got a great family back here, and he misses his schoolmates. He's got a massive heart and he loves his family, but there is a fair element of his heart in Port Adelaide too."
Port Adelaide coach Matthew Primus admitted yesterday he was unsure of Trengove's future.
"We'll continue to work with him and hopefully we'll sign him up soon," Primus said.
"But we all know it's a different environment out there now with players coming out of contract."
