theres nothing superior about my judgement im just commenting on what ive seen to date. i also believe for a small but at 22 while there is no doubt some improvment left in him i dont think there will be a lot.

It's all good. All we both want are good footballers for the RFC.

Personally I think Edwards has some elite qualities right now.
Sure he's not a complete player yet but there is a lot to work with and develop still.

Weaknesses?! Yes.
The knocks on his kicking early this year were justified.
Appalling errors! but as a keen observer you must admit it improved in his more recent outings as it did last year.

Most of the knocks on his disposal by his most outspoken critics was largely formed early.
Fair enough, he was off to a shaky start and as is always the case in life it's a lot harder to shake those initial perceptions people form up front than it is later.

However many of his critics needed to look deeper than the odd howler by foot that attracted most of the attention.

Shane's hands are exceptional IMO. As his his decision making. :o
He is a footballer, absolutely and a very talented one.
Many will scream his decision making has been shocking but personally I think sometimes early he just thought too much. Still does now at times.
Better than not thinking enough though (ala Tambling ::)) and with experience I believe that will improve. His ability to bring others into the play is a very valuable commodity that few have.
Importantly also he also has a great tank.
He's not overly quick but will run all day. With the reduced interchange I think that this will be a valuable asset to have.
He applies constant pressure to his opponents and has a high work ethic. No wonder he's a coaches favourite.

Anyways enough of blowing his trumpet. Only time will tell how he ends up.
Not there yet but hopefully he becomes great player for the Tigers. I think he can be.

I reckon we tend to forget how young our blokes are sometimes and rank them tough. Not every player can be elited at 19-20

Edwards is only 22 (23 in Oct) and has been in the system what 5 years, but under a decent coaching structure for only 2 of those years... he's shown improvement and will continue to do so IMHO. At 22 going onto 23 he still learning. The best is yet to come I reckon

I make no secret that i do believe we should trade him to GS and last night was yet another example of his up down career.

His good is descent but it happens once every 4 games. Not good enough.

Do we need him or will we miss him. Id say absolutely not. He is a nothing player, just someone who occupies a spot on our list.

Would definitely entertain the thought of a Morton/Edwards and Tambling pick for scully thus keeping our first pick or both to GC for a second rounder.

Its worked well for our Collins trade and i rate Edwards much less than i did Collins.

Must trade Dimma

agree 100% he will be a star, there are plenty of other players to move on before Edwards.  He takes the game on a bit like Nahas what is wrong with that?? We have a young list full of Balls  courage flare and  play exciting brand of football and he is right in the middle of it.  :gotigers

Let's wait until we beat a good side before we get too excited.

In the end if we are going to trade for the likes of Trengove (Port) or Scully or even one of the 17yo picks then Edwards will be one name that has to be on the trade table particulary for Trengove because of the SA links.

I would swap Edwards for Trengove every day of the week.
