Can we call Stephen Milne a rapist? Morally, No. Legally, no. If he has been left unmarked and kicked 5 easy ones against us, Yes

Aim - To establish a multi cultural society.

Method - Take a nation still honoring murders in the name of "God and freedom" from ww 2,
add liberal doses of European,Asian,African,Indigenous Native etc
Further add belief systems such as Judaism,Christianity,Muslim etc, and separate with financial status and class all the while remaining partial to AMERICAN propaganda.

Pour into odd shaped bowl.

Stir Occasionally.

Result - Violence,Anger and frustration.poo-fight

and morons debating their virtual existence.

Based on my life in Australia Id say that 80%+ of Australians have engaged in some form of racial abuse at some point and that its still prevalent today. Just look at the indians that were getting bashed, 40 years ago it was the 'lets go after the greeks, italians and other europeans" so I'm not going to tell lies, Australians are not the model example for people who fight against racism. Ok!
I guess it depends on what kind of racism you are refering to. What is the intent? I've never used a racist term in anger or in a abusive way. I'll joke about racial stereotypes, but its never a vindictive thing. I find racist, homophobic and bigoted jokes funny but I'll even laugh about jokes about pedophilia & rape (watch Jimmy Carr's DVDs sometime :lol), so not sure if being able to laugh at those jokes makes me in anyway racist, or involved in racial abuse.
Actually the one exception to that is standard banter between mates, when having a laugh with the boys there is no limit as long as its jovial and without any malice then it's fair game.

It's often more of a maturity thing and the way your parents are. My dad is almost 70 now and from England so I often find some of his comments on "Abos" a little unsettling and I remember seeing the horror in guests faces when we were in the UK talking about the cricket and he refered to the Pakistan game as "the Pakis" (which is fine here but HUGELY offensive in the UK). Sometimes it is just unintended and sometimes it is ingrained in how you were raised. My dad regularly comments in surprise after seeing my stuff photos that the majority of my mates are all ethnic (all sorts too).

Inf brought up homo sexuality. Its a fact of life a % of people live this sort of life and some will play football. We've all made the odd gay joke. How is that different to someones skin colour? I would also say anti homosexual remarks are 15-20 times more commonly heard than any racial slurs.

So is sexual preference the same?
I think a big reason it hasn't been addressed is that no AFL player has come forward to come out to everyone. I usually don't mind Aker, but I think of all the things he's done, the article he wrote about keeping gay AFL players in the closet is by far the worst thing he has done. A player was ready to come out then, Aker caught wind of it and wrote the article and its been swept under the rug. Until someone (or a few of them) stand united and makes the issue public it will never be dealt with properly.

The NRL have been much better off in dealing with the sexuality issue since Ian Roberts came out.

Isn't that part of the issue Infamy? Some people will argue that it doesn't matter if it is vindictive or abusive they are still deemed (wrongly IMHO) as racist comments. I have friends who are indigenous and to be honest if some people heard the way we sometimes speak to one another I'd hung from the highest tree and tortured, the fact that my mate gives better than me seems to be irrelevant I am the only one who gets frowned upon  ;D

I appreciate your story about your Dad. I have the same thing with my Uncle who's 89, he has always referred to Aborigines as "Abos" because thats the era he grew up in, it doesn't mean he is a racist and he doesn't use it a racist manner and means absolutely no offence by it.

A few years ago I had to take my kids home at half time - they were pretty young at the time but one of them started to feel physically ill because of the language that was spewing forth from a fellow Richmond supporter in the row behind us.

sure it wasn't from the pies?

Hitler practiced genocide, huge difference, but agree it's a circular debate
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I reckon I'd need something stronger than a beer  :rollin

Johnnie Walker Black label or Chivas would do the trick  ;D
