This WA journo is asking today who is Richmond's "don't kick it to him" player?
Oh no, don't kick it to PavSimon White
WA Today
June 6, 2011What we also decided – less scientifically but with more confidence – was that each club in the league had at least one Don't Kick It To Him (DKITH) player.
I'm sure most football fans will know the bloke I'm talking about.
He's the player on your team who, when the ball is kicked towards him in acres of space, you might initially see only the flash of colour of his guernsey and "think we're on here." Then you realise it's the DKITH and close your eyes, swear, pray or do a combination of all of these things at once.
The DKITH doesn't turn it over every time he gets it. He'd have a very short AFL career if he did. It's just that the variation between his good and bad once he gets the ball is so great – and unpredictable – that, going by the law of averages, you'd sometimes prefer he didn't get it at all.
I'm desperately in need of some assistance from fans of Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn, the Gold Coast, North Melbourne and Richmond.
Also, if anyone has any all-time favourite DKITHs, I'm open to suggestions on them as well. Maybe we can come up with an all-DKITH team.
Don't Kick It To Him Fremantle – Michael Johnson, Rhys Palmer, Byron Schammer
