From what I've read, there's an Elder who has Cam pencilled in on the main list. :-\  ???
It's 50 of one and half a dozen of the other - Don Scott

IMO the club needs to distance themselves from all this. Ditch him now if the club has the power to do so. Lets face it, he's not that good anyway. This is serious stuff and the cops wouldn't have charged him if they didn't feel they had a solid case. No matter how this pans out, this unfortunate event is just what the club didn't need leading into a new season and the bad press will linger on whilst Krak is still at the club.

Cam Howat, your spot in the senior list is on the way if the rookie rules permit it. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Two reasons why the Club won't be dumping Krak now IMO. Firstly he hasn't been convicted of anything as yet and secondly his contract would still be valid because he hasn't been convicted of anything yet and so cutting him loose would involve a one-year salary payout on top of the cost of promoting Howat to the senior list if allowed. The Club might (?) also put itself at risk of unfair dismissal (assuming the Club has more than 100 paid employees) if we sack Krak now and then he is found to be not guilty by the court.

MT is correct, they cant sack him now, they have to wait for the court case and wait the final result. the sooner the result from the courts the better for us.

Knowing our legal system, this court case has the potential to run into the season proper before a result is forthcoming especially if the kid in hospital doesn't make it. Will Krak be training during all of this?? Will he be allowed to leave WA at all?? This is all so messy.  :help

The squad has to run the Tan on Friday so yep Krak will be there. The only constraint on his bail is he goes nowhere near the bloke in hospital on top of the $10,000 he had to pay. Krak being back in Victoria far away from that mob is probably a good thing.

You're right tiga it's a horrible mess  :(.

[i dont care what anyone says but belting up a bloke is no where near as bad a crime as running away from police in order to resist arrest.
Tell that to David Hookes' widow.

his widow(ex wife) his lover or both

the guy that hit him got off! the only reason he did was becaus ethere was enough evidence supporting his case that hookes was the smart arse instigator.  it human nature to defend yourself at all cost if you feel threatened and in danger yourself.  unfortunately for hookes , he picked the wrong bloke and it cost him his life, if hookes was not such a smart a r s e , he would still be alive now

I can't see Krak ever being a smartarse in fact Krak would be the last player I thought would get involved in a fracas, but I don't know his brother at all. Maybe he was the instigator and the bloke in hospital copped a 2 for 1 deal if Krak got involved after the initial confrontation.
All I'm hoping for is for this to all be sorted before the start of the season. I just hope there are some credible witnesses to this event otherwise as I said before this could drag on and on. Not good for the club.

It's a mess that's for sure and a bloody big one.

None of us know what happened apart from what's been "reported" (and I use that term loosely).

Tomorrow we'll know a bit more because they're due back in court.

The quicker it's sorted out the better - but geez Krak I reckon you owe the RFC after this one ::)

The Club will have to fine him wont they?

How about we just support the kid until we know otherwise?

If he's found not guilty then possibly for breaking team rules. If the verdict goes the other way then of course he'll have bigger worries than a club fine of $5000.

Krak pleads not guilty - bailed to reappear in March
« Reply #268 on: January 04, 2007, 01:12:55 PM »
AFL player pleads not guilty to assault

RICHMOND AFL player Andrew Krakouer and his brother pleaded not guilty to assaulting a man before they left court under police guard in Fremantle today.

The 23-year-old Tigers player and his brother Tyrone, 21, appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Court charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm.

Justin Robin Martin, 24, suffered head injuries in an incident in Fremantle on December 22.

He remains in a stable condition at Perth's Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

At the Krakouers' court appearance last week, Mr Martin's friends and family allegedly threatened the brothers with traditional Aboriginal payback.

At least 15 police were in court today but there was no sign of trouble.

All the same, the brothers left court via a rear entrance then were put in a police car and driven to the nearby police station.

They were bailed to reappear for a committal mention on March 13.

Our efficient legal system at work. 2 hearings so far yet nothing has been said or done ::).

March 13 is just 2-3 weeks before the season starts  :-\.
