AFL player pleads not guilty to assaultRICHMOND AFL player Andrew Krakouer and his brother pleaded not guilty to assaulting a man before they left court under police guard in Fremantle today.
The 23-year-old Tigers player and his brother Tyrone, 21, appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Court charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm.
Justin Robin Martin, 24, suffered head injuries in an incident in Fremantle on December 22.
He remains in a stable condition at Perth's Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
At the Krakouers' court appearance last week, Mr Martin's friends and family allegedly threatened the brothers with traditional Aboriginal payback.
At least 15 police were in court today but there was no sign of trouble.
All the same, the brothers left court via a rear entrance then were put in a police car and driven to the nearby police station.
They were bailed to reappear for a committal mention on March 13.
