Newy knee injury

"Heard they have ruled out ACL but it may be PCL. The scan tomorrow will give them more info."

If it's a PCL that's season over for Newy.

PCL - could be 2 weeks could be 12

Whatever it is - cotton wool the season, pointless trying to come back from this year with only 5 games to go

Why - he isn't a Vice Captain?

He is simply in the leadership group - I know he likes to think his role involves more  ;D

We have 2 Vice Captains in Foley & Lids so one would hope that captaining duties while Newman is off the park would be shared between those 2

Or better yet they'd say give it to Cotch

If Jackson captains this club I will honestly never buy a membership again. I will support Melbourn Storm.
Go Tigers!

The bloke who does the injury update/summary on SEN is saying it is a PCL which means 8-10 week recovery. So season over for Newy.

The latest on Newman's knee:

RICHMOND captain Chris Newman has avoided surgery but doubts remain on how long he will be sidelined for.

Newman strained his posterior cruciate ligament during the first quarter of Sunday's match against Geelong at Etihad Stadium before being substituted off.

Scans on Monday revealed the 29-year-old will not have to undergo surgery but no time frame has been set for his return.

"At this stage, it is difficult to put an exact time frame on how long Chris will be on the sidelines, but we're hopeful he will be available for the last portion of the season," Richmond football manager Ross Monaghan told richmondfc.com.au.

If Jackson Captained the club it would be the day the RFC died in my eyes and I would limit my interest to country footy.

Whgat about Foley
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”
