I've got a question about the navigation.
I'm using Firefox and Safari, on different hardware - Windows XP and iThingee.
At the bottom of any thread page, when I hit the "Go Up" button, it no longer takes me to the Navigation line at the top of the page. The scrolling stops at the first post on the page, then I have to manually scroll up to the navigation line to choose "Richmond Rant" to get back to the topic list page.
Bit of a nuisance, but not a show-stopper.
Is it something I've done in my forum settings or browser settings?
Hi Muscles,
I've downloaded Safari to check if there's a problem (I'm using it to type this post) and found it functions no differently to IE or FireFox.
"Go Down"/"Go Up" are meant to take you from the first/last post to the last/first post on the page.
If you want to return to the very top of the thread's page you use either 'tree-link' at the top or bottom of the block of posts:
eg: One-Eyed Richmond Forum » Football » Richmond Rant » Tigers vs Crows game thread
So for the "Tigers vs Crows game thread" you'd click on the far right link in the tree-link "Tigers vs Crows game thread" (ie. the thread title) and it'll take you to the top of that thread's page. If you click on the 2nd link from the right in the tree it'll take you to the top of the "Richmond Rant" board and if you click on the left tree link "One-Eyed Richmond Forum" it'll take you to the top of the forum's frontpage.
Another alternative is to use the scrolldown box "jump to: [
boardname] [go]" down the bottom right of each thread page. Select the board you want to go to and click "go" and that will also take you to the top of that board's page.
I hope that all makes sense
.
Cheers,
OE.
