Richmond interested in Josh Caddy?

Might be garbage but Trade Week Radio just before 1pm said Richmond has shown interest in Josh Caddy.

Did u hear what we were prepared to offer? If Essendon are trying to get a compo pick and offer 19 & compo we would be able to top that. Had the navicular injury this year so id be skeptical.

Get this deal done for 15 & Compo.  Throw in Morton also.

If not straight swap for Foley (least preferred option)

Is exactly the type of mid we need. Big bodied contested player with good skills. Would definitely give up pick 15 and a player. Would consider adding the compo pick too.
I rated him very high last draft.

You would rather give up our two best picks instead of an overrated crocked midfielder with very average kicking skills?

Foley for Caddy, where do I sign ;D

^ roger rogerson...would be real keen to get him into our midfield mix...right age, right build & an upgrade on skills immediately compared to some of the donks running around...

the fact that he wants to come home for family reasons works in our favour...would love to make this happen...

No way would I give up both our first rounder and our compo pick. That's two decent picks for one kid who is still an unknown at AFL level. It's not as if he's a first year player who has walked into AFL without skipping a beat. Pick 15 is higher than Essendon's first pick OR a compo pick which would interest the Suns as the new franchises are after as many as they can get their hands on so we have the upper hand on Essendon already without going overboard if we want Caddy. Add a expendable player if need be but not both pick 15 and the compo pick. We need to add to our depth so need picks as well; not do 2 picks-for-1 player offers.

I disagree MT. The important point is that he has a thorough medical with focus on his navicular injury. He was pick 7 in a strong draft and is as tough as they come. He has leadership qualities (captain of NK) and we would be hard pressed getting anything better than him. Our compo pick will also be something like pick 30 when it comes around. So pick 15 + compo doesn't seem like we are paying overs. Of course he has to be fit!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Realistically, our compo pick will never be much better than pick 20. Caddy in this draft goes top 6 imo.

Pick 15 and Pick 20 for Pick 6. Just a way of looking at it. Caddy's a gun. I'd be disappointed if we didn't look at this.

I'm not saying on it's own it is enough but remember the compo pick would definitely be around pick 20 for GC as they'll be lucky to win 6 games next year. These compo picks are even more valuable for the new franchises as it will enable them to continue to load up with kids from the top 20-25 of stronger uncompromised drafts in subsequent drafts. Offering both pick 15 and the compo pick is IMO too much when we could find two quality players for that to improve our list and depth. We should definitely be able to find a good midfielder at pick 15 alone otherwise our recruiters haven't done their job. Last year's draft was just as compromised as this one.

The best optimistic deluded Bomber fans can come up with is trading Hooker to Brisbane for the Lions' compo pick and then ontrading it with pick 19 to Gold Coast.

Another version was pick 19 + Lonergan for Brisbane's pick 12  :wallywink and then pick 12 for Caddy.

Lonergan by himself is more than enough to get Caddy....  ::)

"Don't rule the Tigers out of the market for Caddy, either. You've still got pick 15 up your sleeve."
