I dont really think we will go backwards, Smokes. I was really just being stupid.
But i think Claw has done it in a fairly clinical way, breaking it down like he has. Others have  put us down for wins (not even possibles) against teams like North, Melb, Doggies, Adelaide, even Carlton. Now, I dont think we will, but we could very easily lose the majority of those games. Easily! We lost to effing GC and PA this year  :-[

Look, I reckon we are a genuine chance to make finals, but I think many on here are guilty of using their heart not their head when making their predictions.

But maybe im being pessimistic, i mean its not like us tigers have ever got ahead of ourselves in the off-season before!   :lol

Fair enough W.  Don't necessarily agree but I hear your opinion.   :thumbsup

(Edit) And I'm talking about the number of wins, not the propensity of posters using their hearts over their heads!   ;D

Enough to make the finals or else.

what are we gunna measure progress on the win/loss ratio. not me.

there are many factors that says bottom 4 or 6 next yr. im sick of going thru them so wont. to me because of where i think the list is at bottom 4 or 6  i wont be considering 5 to 7 wins  as going backwards. there are far more important indicators to actual improvement than the win/ loss column atm.

people are on here and they have pencilled in wins against the likes of gc pa bris nm wb me fr etc.  to me based on what has gone before they are nothing more than 50/50 games. sheesh people think we are going to improve but think everyone else is going to stagnate.

i will say i think we have built to date a reasonably competetive best 22  simple fact remains we need to keep on upgrading. things like depth quality age experience heavily count against us atm.
these things can only be fixed as the kids develop and gain experience. the majority of our better players are under wht 22 we are relieing on potential rather than bona fide established players.

How our top 6 goes next year will play the biggest factor. If they play close enough to a full season in 2012 as they did this year then whether we stagnate or improve will then depend on the next young tier coming through and whether they have breakout years as Vickery did this season. On the other hand a few major injuries to our top 6 will expose our weak underbelly and yep Claw we could easily finish bottom 4. Our list is still ordinary as far as depth and it lacks enough quality to push for finals. Unfortunately the Club is getting ahead of itself and has publicly planned for finals which then gets the supporter base's hopes unrealistically up.
