Picks 87, 90 and 92-96

All other picks in the draft are with promoted rookies or in the case of GC and picks 88 & 91 Local talent selections

go for it JVT ;D

Pick 87. Kyal Horsley (Subiaco)
Height: 182cm
Weight: 88kg

Horsley, a strong-bodied midfielder, has attracted interest from several clubs after winning Subiaco's best and fairest count and coming second in the Sandover Medal. After running over the draft we are shocked to see he hasn’t been taken and quickly pounce at 87.

Pick 90. Jordan Kelly (Dandenong Stingrays)
Height:192 cm
Weight: 81kg

Kelly is a real competitor who we didn't see the best of this year due to injury. Once again shocked to see he wasn’t picked up by another club despite the risk, and are delighted to see him as a part of GWS in 2012. He is strong in a one-on-one contest and disposes of the ball cleanly. It won't be beyond him to play some senior footy next year if his body stays sound.

Pick 92. Brett O’Hanlon (Dandenong Stingrays)
Height: 189cm
Weight: 87kg

O'Hanlon has exceptional hands and is very strong overhead. He represented Vic Country at the national carnival and kicked 31 goals for Dandenong in 17 games. He's a lovely, long left-foot kick and has the ability to push further up the ground. Should be gone before pick 55 in the real draft.

Pick 93. Nick O’Brien (North Ballarat Rebels)
Height: 188cm
Weight: 91kg

Happy to round out the pickings with the Captain of Vic Country, Nick O'Brien. He is a lead-up forward with a tank big enough to allow him repeated efforts. He took 32 marks in five games for Vic Country, but didn't hit the scoreboard as he would have liked. GWS have got some GIANTS inside forward 50, but O'Brien will bring something a bit different.

3. G.W.S. - Dom Tyson
4. G.W.S. - Matt Buntine
5. G.W.S. - Chad Wingard
7. G.W.S. - Will Hoskin-Elliott
9. G.W.S. - Elliott Kavanagh
10. G.W.S. - Liam Sumner
11. G.W.S. - Billy Longer
13. G.W.S. - Toby Greene
14. G.W.S. - Todd Elton

90. G.W.S. - Jordan Kelly
92. G.W.S. - Brett O’Hanlon
93. G.W.S. - Nick O’Brien

Very pleased with the draft, few left late we felt should have been picked up sooner but were delighted to take with our later picks. We feel the choices we made with our first 11 picks will provide the core to a Premiership in 4-5 years and hope to sustain that success while the players travel through their prime years.

Happy SOS didn't make any blunders with the calling of player names, falafel anyone?

Geelong Cats

32 - Hayden Crozier (Medium Forward)

34 - Myles Bolger (Ruckman)

48 - Murray Newman (Small Forward/Midfielder)

66 - Justin Clarke (CHB)

78 - Michael Bussey (CHF)

86 - Jed Bews F/S (Midfielder)

Pretty happy at the Cats. Time will tell which ones make it but we think we'll find a few players.

Richmond Tigers

15 - Devon Smith (Geelong Falcons)

26 - Brad McKenzie (Sturt)

55 - Josh Tynan (Gippsland Power)

Devon Smith was actually my third choice for pick 15 as both Docherty and Adams had already been selected. McKenzie was perfect at 26 and Josh Tynan at 55 was an absolute cracker. Had Tynan not been there at 55 it would have been a pass. Overall, very happy with the players the RFC have gained during this years draft.

I would be happy with those picks come 9pm tonight. Smith is a cracker but will surely be gone by 15. I have doubts that Docherty will slip through and get the feeling they may go with Kersten if Docherty isn't there at 15 . . . unless Adams / Sumner slip down also but very unlikely.

I'd pick Markworth at 15 if he was available. His ability to use his pace and breakaway from a contest is a fantastic attribute to have in AFL footy. He can play half forward but eventually move into the midfield and become a real good player. For similar reasons I'd also be hoping that Jordan Murdoch from Glenelg is our pick at 26. Exceptional pace and a decent kick. Would be great on a wing at the MCG. Both players are a good size and wouldnt find it hard to put on the required weight to play early in 2012.

Who would you take out of the following if all were available at our Pick 15:

Adams

Smith
Markworth
Kavanagh

For the record, the order I have put them in is the order I would choose

I would have the above group infront of the likes of Ellis and Kersten.

Its not a bad list to choose from to be honest. This draft should get us 2 decent players.

So based off both our lists we would be 'collectively' more satisfied if Adams falls to 15.  :rollin

I agree, for mine Kersten and Ellis a little behind the above mentioned. I would be happy for either to fall to 26.  :pray

22. Jackson Paine
44. Sam Dwyer
62. Dylan Buckley [F/S]

Melbourne

36. Sebastian Ross
52. Fletcher Roberts
54. Pass
Trade - Mitch Clark

Not too bad for either the Blues or Dees given neither had a top 20 pick.

A few named in the various phantom drafts missed out tonight so they will be available in the rookie draft.

Marley Williams ... mid/fwd      181cm    85kg     22/07/1993    Claremont (WA)

"The Cotch" will be disappointed.  :whistle Tipped him to go to us at 26. Also he didn't rate McKenzie and had him going in the 40's where I had him as our 26. Had Nort not jagged him, I'm pretty confident we would have taken him in a flash.

Very pleased that my 3 selections in our phantom draft got picked up especially Josh Tynan. In fact all my pics went earlier than most predicted. Maybe I know more about scouting future talent than I realised. Jack you got a job for me??  ;D
