I was hoping Forster and Clay Smith would slip to GWS's next pick at 56, but OE took them both  :banghead

Seriously though, how did both these kids fall to mid 40's! :whistle

yes well for memory it was the kid Forster I was going to selct for Brissie
The early bird gets the worm! :rollin

There's still a kid available who will most likely go first round in the real thing  :whistle

Brisbane
Pick 47:

Jordon Lockyer
HT: 191cm
WT: 85 Kgs
tall Defender

Son of former WCE Andrew Lockyer was equal 2nd at the combine in the kicking assessment at 87% and came in 6th in the running vertical jump. Started the year in the WAFL Colts and represented WA in the under 18's championships. Made his senior WAFL debut in Rd 21. Brisbane need tall defenders and we feel he can develop over time. Certainly needs to add some size but  few solid pre-season should cover that off

Western Bulldogs
Pick 49:

Elliott Yeo
HT: 188cm
WT: 73Kg
Medium Defender

Good results at the draft combine. Equal 2nd in the kicking assessment, 1st in the agility run, equal 7th in the running vertical jump. He came first & set a new record for the standing vertical jump of 78cm which although equalled Naitinui's jump in 2008, it's listed as a new record because Yeo's smaller height  ;D

Will need to build size & strength but the Doggies are impressed with Yeo's strongfinishing skills

#50 - Lee Spurr - DOB 27/7/87 Ht 182 Wt 79

Spurr is a utility type of player capable of playing down back, through the middle or up forward.

He is a mature guy who can come in and play right away and organise the defence like Duigan did for Carlton this year. He is not as good a defender as Duigan is but going forward is equally good directing traffic and superior with his run off and long kicking.

Add some more depth for FIGJAM's flag tilt.
And you may not think I care for you

Unless someone twigs before me. I couldn't imagine him not going top 30 in the real draft. If the Tigers were able to pick him up with 55 it would be the coup of the century!  :pray

Pick 51. Port Adelaide - Tom Downie (27/04/1993, 205cm, 95kg, North Ballarat Rebels)

Port will be looking to refill their ruck stocks with Brogan gone and heading up to GWS. Downie is a 205cm tall ruckman from an elite basketball background where he represented Australia at U17 level. Very much a project type (not really a big deal for rucks taken this late in the draft) as he's only played 2 TAC Cup games late in the season after playing mostly school footy for St Pats Ballarat but in them he showed enough natural talent to like with his athleticism, game awareness and tap-work to advantage. Averaged 13 possies and 13 hitouts. He needs to work on his running game and match endurance which isn't surprising given his basketball background although he did test above 14 in the beep test at the Draft Combine so he still does have natural endurance. His 3km time trial was 11.40.

Pick 52. Melbourne - Fletcher Roberts (3/6/1993, 193-5cm, 81-4kg, Sandringham Dragons)

AFL recruiters love a kid who stands up on the big stage in big games and Roberts fits the bill kicking 5 goals including 4 in the last quarter of the TAC Cup Grand Final in Sandringham Dragon's come from behind win. The Demons are also looking to add to their tall forward stocks so he fits their needs as well. A key forward known for his footy smarts, use of his body in contests and good skills.

At TAC Cup level Roberts also pinch-hitted in the ruck but at 193-195cm tall (there's some discrepancy regarding his true height in the various sources) that might not be his go at AFL level.
