RICHMOND is poised to find another forward in tonight's draft to help lighten the goalscoring load on Jack Riewoldt next season.
In a surprise development yesterday, it emerged the Tigers were eyeing South Fremantle goalkicker Shane Kersten with its pick No.15.
The Tigers caused a major reshuffle of the draft order when rival clubs learned of their strong interest in the 191cm leading forward.
Kersten, 18, was thought to be headed to Fremantle at pick 20, but if he isn't taken by Greater Western Sydney, he seems bound for Punt Rd.
While marking is a major feature of his game, Kersten's exceptional kicking skills would also interest Richmond..
The news means the Dockers are set to move on inside midfielder Clay Smith, forcing the Western Bulldogs, which desperately want Smith, into reconsidering their position.
On Tuesday the Dogs flew another inside midfielder, Shane Kerridge, from his home in Mildura to Whitten Oval for talks.
It is understood coach Brendan McCartney wants a contested ball-winner to help build a midfield around.
Kerridge was tipped to be taken in the 30s.
