Bombers apparently interested in Ellis.

Brandon Ellis (Richmond)

The restricted free agent has cemented his spot in the in-form Tigers' senior side and may well play in a second premiership in three years in the coming weeks. But the dashing defender is highly unlikely to remain at Punt Road, given the money he will command elsewhere compared to at Richmond. The Suns lead the race for Ellis' services, but Essendon is the strongest contender if he stays in Victoria after Carlton suddenly went cold on him on finals eve.

Are they so blind? He's playing like a teenager, and I don't mean the Jack Graham type either...

Oh well let's see if he ends up at Tullamarine.
Exactly what they don't need but they keep pinching people off us so it can't come as a surprise.

Im not as harsh on Ellis as some but he did not play well on the weekend. Was pushed around like a first year teenager.
He's in trouble to keep his spot.

He is by far our weakest link.

I reckon if Stack can get himself right, Bellis might be in trouble.

Has Dimma got the balls to drop him though?

I’d drop Bellis for KMac. If Pickett stars this week he may also push his case forward.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Well he dropped him for the finals last year, so yes Dimma has very big balls.

I think it takes bigger balls to leave him in the side than to drop him.

He looked checked out to me. Uncompetitive, as is common.

Easy decision to drop.

If he's going and we know this I would drop him for sure.

So to back him in and redeem himself? well It would be ballsy to do that particularly if he doesn't redeem himself

Has to go as does Short.Gutless to leave this bloke in the team just because hes a favorite who got dropped for finals the yr before. For me id go Ross for Short, Pickett for Ellis and id be bringing Balta into the team to play primarily as a defender. Now that would be balsy and prudent imo.

Depends on who we get in the prelim.

If we get WCE I think Balta makes more sense as a KPD. Against Cats, not as big of a deal IMO.

Ross hasn't been much good since returning from the ankle IMO.

Pickett on the other hand...I'd have him in over Ellis any day. Stack if fit, or KMac if not, to replace Short.

BRANDON ELLIS

Gold Coast is entertaining a four or five-year deal to land the Richmond premiership defender. As a free agent, the Suns don’t have to give away anything at the trade table for him. Carlton has pulled out of the race after making a strong play for him earlier in the year. The Tigers are managing a tight salary cap and could secure a second-round pick as free agency compensation.

“Now Essendon has come calling for the Richmond player. Gold Coast have verbally tabled a four or five year deal to get him there up north, we know Carlton has pulled out.”

Not sure about throwing Balta to the wolf's in a preliminary we handled eagles fine last time with our back 6.
