Fit and firing Foley’s focus on finalsBy Toby Prime

22 Feb, 2012 A FIT and firing Nathan Foley could be the difference as to whether Richmond makes a return to finals football for the first time in 10 years.
Picked up by Richmond with pick four in the 2003 rookie draft, Foley played all 22 games for the Tigers in 2011 after enduring a horror run with injuries in 2009 and 2010.
With a full pre-season under his belt this summer, Foley is adamant that he can return to his 2007 form when he finished second in Richmond’s best and fairest.
“I’m getting fit, which is good, and accumulating training which is probably the most important part,” Foley said.
“The pre-season has been good, all the boys have trained really hard and I’ve been lucky enough to do all of the pre-season and I haven’t missed too many sessions so I’m in pretty good shape along with a lot of the boys,” he said.
The 26-year-old has played 110 games since making his debut in 2005, but is hopeful that 2012 will be the year he gets to play finals football.
