2011 Season Analysis (UPDATED WITH PICS!!!)
« on: February 22, 2012, 08:44:36 PM »
As part of my statistical analysis, I am pleased to provide you with the first part of our 2011 season analysis!  I have analysed the last 3 years of games and have come up with some fascinating and not so fascinating findings!!  If you want to see the full table you can go over to my blog.  I have also included a map of where our wins/losses came from.   Once I can find a way to upload images that fit I will post the table here for all of you to enjoy!  If you want any more stats analysed let me know and I will be able to whip somthing up for you.

ALL GROUNDS
No easy wins - We have not won by +50 pts in the last 3 years
Defensive frailties - 38% of our losses were +50 pts in 2011, 44% in 2010 and 38% in 2009

MCG
MCG nail biters - We do not win convincingly at the "G" with 28 pts,  24 pts and 4pts average winning margin in the last 3 years respectively
MCG Blowouts - 50% of our losses at the "G" were +50 pts in 2011,  55% in 2010 and 38% in 2009
Home ground disadvantage - 46% of our season losses came at "G" in 2011, 56% in 2010 and  50% in 2009
Home ground disadvantage - 62% of our season wins came at "G" in 2011, 50% in 2010 and 40% in 2009

ETIHAD STADIUM
Etihad curse - In 2011 and 2010 we had the same win loss ratio at Etihad (won 1, lost 3). In 2009 we won an extra game
Etihad blowouts - Big loss margin of 37 pts in 2011, 23 pts in 2010 and 57 pts in 2009 (Saints & Doggies usually cause us lots of the pain)

INTERSTATE
Travelling Tigers - In 2011 and 2011 we had the same win loss ratio interstate (won 2, lost 4). In 2009 we only won 1 out of 6
Competitive in 2011 - We were very competitive in our losses in 2011 losing by an average of 24 pts.  Not so good in 2010 and ok in 2009, 63 pts and 28 pts respectively.

OTHER STAT
Wallet´s favourite stat - In 2011 we kicked 100+ points 8 times, 3 times in 2010 and twice in 2009.  This was one of Wallet´s favourite stats under his "footy is entertainment" slogan.  The tanned one would have been be proud of us last year!
