I'd be tempted to have White in to do another number on Yarran;)

I know they will play Jackson because they will put him on Judd. So I accept it is unrealistic of me not to include him in squad. Would have liked to put in Helbig but want to see how Morris goes in the big time

For mine, Morris and Tuck will be our weak links skills/desposal wise but will win plenty of the ball with their strength of will and size. Jackson could fall in the same bracket. Very few other players in the team now that are excellent kicks  :thumbsup

In light of Batchy playing at the Burgers and assuming he won't be AFL ready with just 5 days cool down, I'll take a punt at it looking some like

B: Morris, Rance, Grimes
HB: Newman, Post, Houli
C: Deledio, Cotchin, Grigg
HF: Martin, Vickory, Nahas
F: Miller, Riewoldt, A.Maric
R: iMaric, Foley, Tuck
I/C: Conca, Jackson, Edwards
SUB: Ellis

Pretty vanilla and includes pets. Swap around Jack and TV, and Conca and Ellis possibly. Ellis would be good sub material this match IMO. I'd bet on Carlton playing a quick sub and Ellis would be a good option late in the game to apply pressure on tired opponents and break lines.

From the Herald-Sun...

A long list of players with interrupted pre-seasons have been given permission to play in Round 1 of the VFL, which starts tomorrow.

The names give an indication of players pushing for a Round 1 spot - but VFL selection could be bad news for Carlton and Richmond players.

The Coburg Tigers and the Northern Blues face off tomorrow afternoon, giving players in that match just five days to prepare for the AFL clash next Thursday.

That means Tigers Jake Batchelor, Luke McGuane, Matt White, Jeromey Webberley and Andrew Browne seem out of contention for the MCG blockbuster.

Promoted rookies Brad Miller and Addam Maric have not been named which makes them likely starters next Thursday, along with defenders Brandon Ellis and Steve Morris.

Among the Carlton-listed players lining up for the Northern Blues are Sam Rowe, Aaron Joseph, Matthew Watson and Brock McLean.

Footy Barometer - Round 1

    Sam Landsberger
    From: Herald Sun
    March 26, 2012 1:30PM

RICHMOND

SAM LANDSBERGER’S FORECAST: Thursday night is looming as Tiger Time with many giving Richmond a huge chance to topple the injury-ravaged Blues. Brandon Ellis and Steve Morris are likely to debut after being spared Coburg duties, forcing Jake Batchelor out of the side. A win against Carlton and a crunch Round 3 showdown against Melbourne will be crucial for any finals designs Richmond harbours. David Astbury is likely to return in May.

Going by the coburg side and current injury it looks fair clear this is current best 22.

King will force out little maric. I reckon moore is in trouble and.its a bit odd he bot dekisted  hope a fit.asrbury is ahead of miller.

I would love to see griffiths  batchelor  and maybe derickx  helbig  elton  aarnot  oushing for our first finals side..
