I accept we need to more than just turn up to win next week, however we have not been disgraced in first fortnight

No we have disgraced ourselves at all, you are right.
They cant get ahead of themselves, they need to respect their opponent, then get over the top of them and drill them.
Melbourne have played well against us for the last 6-7 encounters or so, vickery and co cant have a stinker this week.

All the first two rounds have shown to me is this.

Lower tier in Jako, Tuck, Edwards are the obvious choices are not good enough and won't take us to the next level.

I am looking forward to kids like Grimes, Martin, Cotchin, Batchelor, Rance, Conca, Morris, Ellis replace the aforementioned 3 in my previous sentence as well as forging solid careers for themselves at the club.

We need more from blokes like Grigg, Houli, Nahas, Vickery especially so because they can provide more and have a role in the side long term if they can get their output up week in week out.

Jack to stop being petulant get back to basics and lead more instead of trying to take Mark Of The Year. He kicked 34 goals in 6 games in 21010 because he was doing the basics. Taking that mark against St Kilda in that Friday night game in 2010 was a bi product of him doing the right things and having the confidence in his own ability to do that and impact the contest rather than trying to take MOTY as a Hail Mary solution to try and build some confidence.

Newman should not be our captain. Give it to Cotchin ASAP.

Not clear to me what they have been working on over the pre season. Are we just carrying on from where we finished the last one?

Ill tell u 1980.
Jacks ego is incresing in size while his second efforts are merely feigned attempts

Rances balls are still massive but his kicking has gone out the door.

Newman,as hard as he tries, isnt the Captain we need at this stage of development and still puts in sub standard prformances throughout a season.

The backline is still raffling the ball from kickins but now every team savours the opportunity ,forcing this well coached defense into autistic hopscotch mode.

Jackson was a mistake re-signing and a black mark against the development plan, whatever the stuff it may be.

Put simpley,a guy like I Maric comes to the club and although not overly talented, gets things done with courage and will, two things 75% of our list missed out on.

We really need to work on ball use and play to our strengths. Players like Rance should always take the cautious approach. I saw some positives against Collingwood eg Brett's game. We are not a top four side and we have a long way to go but having said that we are improving.
