he was also servicable when he pinch hit in the ruck.

i'd prefer to see him play rather than browne or gus if vickery cant come up.

perhaps his spell up forward for coburg last week will give him the confidence he needs.

you never know, he may perform enough that miller steps aside for vickery  :pray

You can't play blokes with zero confidence at the level in big games. Post is a deer in headlights when there is any more than 200 people watching. He'll drop easy marks, brain fart, and turn it over. Essendon will chew him up.

I'm thinking Dimma's recent press releases are a bit of smoke and mirrors.  i'm confident they already have a plan on how they plan to combat Essendon..  Myself i dont think its the Ryder/Bellchambers thing but more the Watson/Stanton/Zaharakis that is needed to be stomped.  Other teams havent put a tag on all theses players..

What i have noticed, and why i think we played so well against Sydey, is that we have players that can shut down these players, Grigg, Edwards, Houli and Jackson are all capable these days of shutting down players and also being offensive.  This is where i see our defensive improvement has come from.  Other teams have failed to tag all three, perhaps because they only rate 1 or 2 but our ability to close 3 of them out will go a long way to beating Essendon.

If the 3 boys given the role,do their job we will win, if not we wont.

Maric will do fine in the ruck, just as he did getting 3 brownlow votes against Cox and Nik Nat, which Essendon didnt have to contend with.

I would think the Bombers would be very worried about stopping our midfield .this is where the game will be won
Foley and Tuck are flying at present
Let the tag Cotch and Martin.

Tuck or Jacko onto Watson

Stop Watson and you stop Essendon

from what i have seen post looks more confident up forward. down back he just craps himself. perhaps he's just poo scared of making a mistake so close to the enemy's goal?

Both jackson and king have shown that players who struggle a bit between the ears can find it easier to play up forward where decision making is not as important.

the other options, if we are to bring in a tall, gus and browne are ruckmen  (alright some will debate even that) foremost who offer very little up forward, neither of which fill me with confidence they can play a primarily forward role and relieving in the ruck..

Basically if vickery doesn't come up, we struggle to find a suitable replacement.

big risk to not bring someone in to help out against bellchambers and ryder. the game could be lost in the periods we ask miller to ruck against them.

Why, because he has Aboriginal blood??????

Perhaps because he was OK last week playing his role  ::)

They actually all did OK last week.
