Blues pour cold water on potential move on Travis Cloke, Brendon Goddard Rod Nicholson
From: Herald Sun
August 31, 2012 CARLTON president Stephen Kernahan has poured cold water on the likelihood of big forward Travis Cloke moving to the Blues next season, possibly joining his former coach Mick Malthouse.
Instead Kernahan suggested Cloke should stay at Collingwood.
"That's my personal view," he said.
Kernahan said the Blues would have trouble accommodating Cloke under the salary cap, even though he would love a big key forward to join the club.
"We did have a discussion with our list management about Travis, but we expect him to stay at Collingwood," Kernahan said.
"He's a Collingwood player so until he's not a Collingwood player we're obviously just sitting in the wings. For us to get Travis we'd have to make some adjustments and I'm not sure if we can."
Chief executive Greg Swann said the Blues "will not be going for" St Kilda's Brendon Goddard.
