torch's predictions are not far from the mark on our current form.  Oh well at least we'll get a good first round pick if it goes that way.

Thats our fault for not taking the Freo game and one of the close losses at the start of the season or the Adelaide game. We blew our chances, and unlike n0rf, we don't get a second chance.
Yep. We've definitely improved this year (our best 22 is a decent side now) but we're still not good enough to join the big boys yet over 22 rounds. Every side has a tipping point and it doesn't take too many injuries to reach ours. The rot seemed to set in once Foley and Grimes went down  :-\

We played some of our best footy without Grimes see round 9-10 this year.

As much as Grimes straightens us up defensively as a quality third tall defender its Foley's run and carry in and under spread and pace that we have really missed in the last few weeks.

Come draft time we need to find a few mids preferebally one with Axel attributes. We've missed his presence heaps. Somehow I don't think we would have dropped the Freo Adel and GC games with Foley in the side. That's how close we could have been to finals if the injury plague had hit a lesser type than a piston in our engine.

Right now we would be 10-5 if that was the case. Such is the closeness of the comp and the footy we have played for the majority of the year. :-\

Right on Tucker and MT. While recently it has been the same old, for most of the first half we played some ripper footy and showed we are on the right track.

The run home
By Ben Guthrie
Mon 23 Jul, 2012

12. Richmond
28 points (seven wins, nine losses) 106.24 per cent

The run home:
Rd 18: Carlton at the MCG
Rd 19: Brisbane Lions at the Gabba
Rd 20: Western Bulldogs at the MCG
Rd 21: Fremantle at Paterson Stadium
Rd 22: Essendon at the MCG
Rd 23: Port Adelaide at the MCG

Tiger fans would have hoped for two wins in the past eight days, but their finals dreams have faded following a remarkable loss to the Suns and Sunday's thrilling defeat by North Melbourne. Saturday night's blockbuster against Carlton is now a must-win for both clubs. Essendon and Fremantle (in Perth) are Richmond's next two biggest hurdles.

Coburg has more chance of making top 4

Season over go for the tank

Where will your team finish on the AFL ladder?

    Matt Windley
    From: Herald Sun
    July 24, 2012 10:00PM

MATT Windley pulls apart every club's run home and predicts where your team will finish on the ladder.

12. RICHMOND
28pts 106.24%

R18: Carlton, MCG
R19: Brisbane Lions, Gabba
R20: Western Bulldogs, MCG
R21: Fremantle, Paterson Stadium
R22: Essendon, MCG
R23: Port Adelaide, MCG

Matt says: Gone. Gallant, but gone. Five losses by less than 12 points hurts - and the manner of the last two hurts more. Richmond has been in the hunt in EVERY SINGLE GAME it has played this year, so it will be of some comfort to its rivals that it is out of the finals hunt. Anyone disagree that finals hopes are gone? OK, well, say the Tigers win every game for the rest of the season that will put them on 13 wins and, by our reckoning, level with eighth-placed Essendon - at best - and that's assuming the Bombers stumble. Tigers fans can dare to dream for the next few weeks if they do as expected and knock off Carlton, Brisbane Lions and Western Bulldogs, but the death knell should officially sound at Patersons Stadium against Fremantle in Round 21. Then they'll be left to rue Karmichael Hunt and the bouncing ball from Shaun Grigg on the weekend that refused to go through the big sticks.

MATT WINDLEY'S PREDICTED LADDER

1. Adelaide 18-4
2. Sydney 17-5
3. Collingwood 17-5
4. Hawthorn 16-6
5. West Coast 16-6
6. Geelong 15-7
8. North Melbourne 14-8
6. Essendon 13-9
----------------
9. St Kilda 12-10
10. Fremantle 12-10
11. Richmond 11-11
11. Carlton 10-12
13. Brisbane Lions 9-13
14. Port Adelaide 6-16
15. Western Bulldogs 5-17
16. Melbourne 4-18
17. Gold Coast 2-20
18. Greater Western Sydney 1-21

So disappointing but, excepting a minor miracle, time to look to the trade table and draft day again :'(

If we can knock off the Blues then I will be slightly contented despite the disappointment of coming so close.

North doesn't deserve their place in the finals. They were gifted a soft draw based on playing low crowd drawers and to hide the ineptitude of the new teams at small stadiums and during low ratings time slots. They will be off to Tasmania soon once the AFL can kick the Hawks out anyway.

Funny how all the commentators have dropped off Essendon  ;D

Geelong getting back to its best and North having a cushy draw which also boosts their % will make it hard for everyone outside the Eight to get in. The Bombers are in free fall and are now the only ones looking like falling out but we are 4 games behind them. The past two weeks and the Freo loss really have hurt us big time even if we were to win tonight.
