The Grog Squad
« on: June 01, 2012, 10:36:41 PM »
Good to see Lids give them their due tonight when interviewed by Richo.

They are loud, they are loyal, they have humour when we are losing and most of all they are great to watch after a win.

I got stuck right in the middle of the Saints Cheer squad behind the goals.

Was good to wave goodbye to them though as they left early.

Also enjoyed having a verbal altercation with some tosser who was calling us cheats...... typical  :help :wallywink

Reminds me of the two Hawthorn goons last week who were each escorted out of the area by 8 security guards with the whole grog squad waving them goodbye  ;D.

The Riewoldt chant would've got a good workout tonight  :lol.

Saints pig we sat near mouthed off all night left at the 7min mark of the last conceding defeat. What a lug.

I copped 1/2 beer glass on my coat, but the woman had slipped so I wasn't too angry

Was whoever did it off their face already when it happened WP?

At the dreamtime game last year a girl behind me where we were standing dropped her full cup of beer and it splashed all over the back of the legs of my jeans and backpack by my feet. Some people have a few at the footy and literally can't hold their drink.

The first 3 times when he was spilling his beer when trying to get to his seat... I suppose you can say that's "accidental"

But when my elderly friend copped nearly a qtr of a cup on the back of their jacket for a 4th time I thought enough is enough.

Turned around and said "mates that's enough, you haven't apologized once and it's not funny"

His reply was "who cares we are winning so try this" and then throw it in my face.

That sucks WP. One thing that amazes me is that i would have thought that following the same team would create some solidarity between supporters but that sadly not the case. It should be safe and enjoyable for all ages to attend the footy.
