very disappointing. this was one of few games against better opposition that i had actually pencilled in as a win. it was looking good for awhile.
positives jeezus people we debuted a 197cm key forward fantastic. so what he struggled against one of the better defenders in the comp.
dont give out kudos very often but thought edwards had another solid game and if he had of just hung onto two marks for a fraction longer it may have been a different story.
bloody hell how can people not enjoy watching the likes of cotchin and martin griffiths more than hold his own. our kids are reason to be positive win lose or draw. ellis got another game into him a first yr player fair enough he had a poor one but that will happen. morris came back played with his usual desperation but was down a bit. these blokes are not going to stay up week after week but they are getting invaluable experience thats a positive in itself.
how about another of my to delist players in connors thought he had a real dip when he came on maybe didnt get a lot of it but what more could you ask he had a real go.
jake king was having probably his best game of the yr till injured. big ivan proved he should be the aa ruckman man is he marking everything that comes his way we should plonk him forward for a ganme or two and try one of the other ruckmen on our list.
we played a fantastic brand of footy for one quarter pity we didnt have plan b but watch out when we do.
theres always positives win lose or draw perhaps i should focus on a few positives just a bit more.
dylan grimes came back from injury and played okay. thats a positive.
we played a good side today and got showed up in a few areas but we never gave up. some may say we should not have lost after the 1st quarter they are probably right but we were never really out of it until late in the game.
we generated more scoring shots. we had more ball more inside 50s etc we did some things right.
finally lets not lose sight of the fact we are very much a development side with probably more than 1/3 of the list to turn over in the next couple of seasons. we lost it aint the end of the world.
