Sarge has done his right ankle again
« on: April 25, 2005, 03:51:48 PM »
Just reinjured his right ankle again in the 3rd quarter in the Coburg game going for a goal off the ground  :'(.

5 kicks, 4 marks, 3 goals and was finding some form again.

Bad luck Jay.  Not his year - hope it's not as bad as his last injury and is just minor.

O'Connor said it wasn't too good and Sarge needs a scan.

According to the SEN ground reporter Sarge apparently said he's rolled his ankle.

SEN said it was a lateral roll of the ankle (medial roll last time). Maybe ligament damage but not as bad as last time.

I have to say the kid was pretty upset after the game as he made his way up the race on crutches.

Despite this incident it was great game by Coburg yesterday :thumbsup

I would hope that Shane Morrison is considered for the seniors this week.

I thought his game yesterday against that over-rated and over paid hack Nick Holland was the best game I've seen him play at CHB.

The longer the game went the better he got.

Should be considered IMO because he is physically stronger than Ray Hall especially in marking contests

From The Age:
By Dan Oakes
April 27, 2005

Jay Schulz's comeback for Richmond is on ice after he went over on his ankle playing for Coburg on Monday. The 20-year-old broke the same ankle in the pre-season, but Hickey said the latest injury was unrelated and would probably turn out to be a simple sprain.

"He's pretty much got a sprained ankle at this stage - he's having precautionary X-rays - but I'd be optimistic that that's going to be OK and within a few days he'll be out there running again," Hickey said.

Captain Kane Johnson is recovering well from a foot injury, but is unlikely to play this weekend.
