lmao at playing a game in cairns being responsible for a second string side playing like a third string side. ::)

lmao at all these blokes on here that jump off whenever we look poor. "but I have had 30 years of it". yeah and you've been sooking the whole time you knobs
Unfair and contradictory criticism. For a start how can 30 year plus members be accused of 'Jumping-off'. And tell me...what have we had to celebrate?

So its a fair enough point davey, about having our 3rds in we can see that, but its the ouutsiders who mock and taunt us. Wait till tommorow the smile of matthew lloyds face. And all the other poo too.

For those calling for benny's head, pretty unfair. They made a buisness decision: 3 yrs 1.5 mil
Its great money, good for the game and oportunity. The problem is the result lies within the players and coach and as we all knew they would lose they did.

For the guys knocking benny, I understand your anger at the club for some of these decisions but these were made with the future in mind.
I am as angry and dissapointed as anyone else today but that's not going to change by calling for someones head. If maric was fir to play would we have lost? No
If dusty and jacko were not idiots would we have lost? No
If axel, grimes and vickery played would we have lost? Farq no

We just have to put up with the poo now for the rest of the season  ::)

told ya we agree on a lot of things and i have to say we agree again.
its as if the kiddies think we can just wave a magic wand and it will happen. takes yrs of hard work with sometimes the odd step backwards to go forward.

the only things gale must take note of is.
1/ we lack depth.
2/ we have massive age gaps in the list,
3/ we lack enough players having played enough games.
4/ we dont have enough quality players atm.
5/ our best 22 is competetive but even then the bottom 6 of the best 22 is ordinary just shows how far we have to go.

today should have been expected just by looking at the kpis. yes we all should be disappointed but anger and shock well thats laughable.

the simple fact is no matter what we do in the coming off season the chances are we wont make the 8 it will take time to properly address the kpis. without doubt we are on the right path to address them.

It' probably stating the bleedin obvious but it should be noted that the Tigers today fielded their worst team probably for the last two seasons, the GC fielded probably their strongest team of the season, pretty much sums up our depth. We have a long way to go in terms of strengthening our squad and until that happens we greatly depend on the Gods smiling on us when it comes to injuries through the season. They haven't smiled on us recently and today was unfortunately the result.

Richmond's finals hopes up in smoke after shock loss

    Jay Clark, Sam Landsberger
    From: Herald Sun
    July 14, 2012 8:26PM

RICHMOND is set to come under fire for selling a home game to Cairns in a move which could cost it a rare finals berth.

Lightning struck twice tonight when the Tigers fell to Gold Coast for the second time in as many years, losing on the back of a Karmichael Hunt after-the-siren goal at Cazaly’s Stadium.

The Tigers make makes about $500,000 for each home game it sells to plays in Cairns.

Suns coach Guy McKenna said the Suns were gifted about a five-goal head start by playing in their home state, opposed to the MCG.

Gold Coast’s last start at the G ended in 97-point hammering at the hands of Collingwood.

Richmond is in the second year of a three-year deal to play one home game a season in Cairns.

Richmond chief executive Brendan Gale last year defended the decision to sell home games, saying it was in the club’s best interests.

“We made a decision about 18 months ago, for our club to become competitive on a sustained basis, we had to build our financial strength,” Gale said.

"In that context, the decision was made to sell what could only be described as a low-value game, in terms of playing Gold Coast at Etihad Stadium, for a reasonable return.

“To simply focus on the selling of the game as the basis of that result is an excuse, a cop-out, and we won’t accept it as a footy club ...

“I can understand the disappointment and frustration of a lot of our supporters, but we are simply not going to accept short-term fixes.”

The Tigers would now need to win at least five of their remaining seven matches to feature in September.

POLL: Would Tiger fans rather the cash to spend on the footy department or the four premiership points?

I blame all the powers that be that obviously haven't addressed the most important issue at the club and that has plagued it for 30 years.
Culture.
Even substandard players rise to the level required when a club has a winning mentality and a winning culture. A winning mantra wouldve beat a team that hasn't won a game.
A winning culture expects success and demands the best regardless of who's on the field.

Every player knew how important that win was yesterday but still they failed to get it done. We can blame circumstances all you like but it's our culture that has shown it's ugly head once again.
We failed, the players failed and the club has failed. Fact!

That's why we struggle to make finals consistantly year after year.
That's why we rebuild every 3-5 years. That's why we turn over coaches so often.

Fix this disease and the club will finally start playing to the words of the best and most famous club song on the planet.
............."Risking head and shin
If we're behind then never mind
We'll fight and fight and win".....

Long way from this in my opinion and yesterday was evidence that the culture hasn't changed as yet.
The club that keeps giving.

How about putting some blame on the players who were not on the park last night?
Jackson, stupid insipid little tap in the guts.
Matt White, finally got a recall. Then a stupid little insipid punch in the guts and a clumsy forceful front on contact.
Martin, stupid decision to hang out with another bloke with his own issues, drinks and takes a sleeping pill. Misses training.
Three changes we really didn't want to have to make.

Disclipline has been crap lately.
