Newman was beaten by Armfield last night. Enough said. :help

The sooner Cotch is captain the better.

Newman is captain by title only and by the fact he is there with the ump before the game and aptly having a toss to see which end he will point too.

Cotch is the spiritual leader of this side and the sooner we bestow the title of Club Captain to him the better.

Amen, newman has done what he can but is limited with ability.

The time for the Cotch is 2013

:'( It's the truth. I like the bloke, and I really do feel for him. I mean no disrespect to him as a person or a player when I agree that Cotchin must relieve him ASAP. I hate them, but I envy blokes like Jobe Watson who can stand up and inspire his troops in the clutch moments (most the time). I thought Newman's goal last night was a good captain's goal but they're too few and far between.

Seeing the injured blokes sitting behind me last made me realise that we may won't major changes but we have no one worth bringing in

Do we really want to see Webberley out there again?

OUTS: Mini Maric, McGuane, Moore (should be another 2-4 given the flick but we have no replacements).

INS: White, Griffiths if fit, Batchelor

Should I list the "luckys"? Those who should be dropped but won't be  ;D

RICHMOND

INJURIES

Jake Batchelor (knee) test
Ben Griffiths (leg) test
Gibson Turner (finger) 1 week
Mat Arnot (hamstring) 2 weeks
Nathan Foley (heel) season
Dylan Grimes (hamstring) indefinite
Ty Vickery (shoulder) season

ON THE BLOCK: Oh boy. Where do you start? A seething Damien Hardwick would probably have half his side on the block this week but the reality is many will be safe because there just isn’t the cattle to replace them. The Tigers worst enemy right now is their depth – or lack of it. Many players went missing in patches against the Blues – especially in the frenetic final five minutes. Addam Maric had no impact when he was substituted on, Kelvin Moore battled, Reece Conca hasn’t come on this year like a glossy draft choice should and the likes of Matt Dea and Jayden Post are fringe players at best.

ON THE CUSP: Not a whole lot. VFL affiliate Coburg, fielding 10 AFL-listed players, trailed 51-0 at quarter-time to continue the Tigers’ mare of a round. Hopefully Batchelor and Griffiths will be fit but Todd Elton was the only AFL-listed talent to show any promise Coburg’s 99-point loss. He and Brad Miller could be considered this week. And while he’s a little while off AFL action, great to see Brad Helbig back playing footy after a long layoff. Jeromey Webberley did have 26 touches for Coburg while Angus Graham recorded 47 hitouts, largely helped by Robbie Warnock’s withdrawal.

SAM LANDSBERGER’S FORECAST: The mental demons are now the worry at Punt Rd. When it gets tight the Tigers don’t go into their shells – they wilt. One expert yesterday lamented they gift-wrapped Carlton the four points on Saturday night. With finals gone its imperative Richmond finishes the year strongly to provide a platform for 2013. Trips to face Freo and the Lions as well as a clash with Essendon shape as stern tests. It’s immeasurable but would love to know how much scarring the Gold Coast loss inflicted on Richmond.

Outs
• Bad Luck
• A Maric
• L McGuano
• D Jackson

Ins
• Good Luck
• Rabbit Foot
• Good Karma
• What ever good fortune symbols are left

Ps.   My Doctor told my wife to stay away from me during the football as it was highly likely the combination of both Richmond losing and her gloating was likely to cause me to have another heart attack! So I need a good win this week so that my blood pressure and heart get a little rest!

RICHMOND - In the Mix

Despite Damien Hardwick's suggestions that the Tigers need an overhaul after their four-point loss to Carlton last weekend, few changes are likely to be made for the match against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night. Midfielder Brad Helbig, whose injuries have precluded him from playing in the AFL this year, and forward Brett O'Hanlon might be included. Addam Maric and Luke McGuane are two who might miss out. Half-forward Matt White is available after serving his suspension but is likely to be asked to go back through the Coburg team.

Wouldn't drop King, especially for Webberley. Never want to see him again in the RFC jumper after that GC 'performance'  :banghead

White could come back in after serving his 3 game suspension, Helbig may get a call in as well.
