Is tomorrow the day?
« on: August 01, 2012, 03:31:00 PM »
The day we finally see our best forward recalled  :banghead McG getting games  ::) Riewoldt being a lazy bitch.  :scream  It's time....it's Miller time. I understand that he is 29 years old but we need to bite the bullet and bring him back (like Tuck last year). McG ain't getting it done, Elton isn't ready & Jack only kicks goals on duds. We will see the performance of Jack lift once Miller is back.

I once thought Miller was a dud but you need to watch him closely. He is the ultimate team player. Gives a nice handball out the back and puts on a block. He blocks and takes someone out for his teammates. Slips a quick handball out or runs a player down so when the opposition coughed the ball up someone else will look good running away with it. Is a great hit up forward, the best we've had since Richo. When he hits up you know that he will either take the grab or create room for Jack. Brings the footy to ground for our crumbers and is perhaps the most reliable kick for goal we have. Kicked 4 against Collingwood earlier in the year.

With respect , people do not doubt that Miller in terms of his
• courage & endeavour's at the ball
• Marking abilities
• Team play etc

He had something to contribute and tries hard - but there is a downside

• playing him does not allow us to develop others
• He drives a Volvo
• He's not a game breaker

His stats are ok despite the limited games but he is not the best forward on this criteria- Goals - 6th, Contested Marks 7th, 1% - 22nd, Goal Accuracy 6th, Goal Assists 13th etc

Interesting call to see if they opt for youth or help Miller pay off his Volvo

We're the only blokes that notice his quick hands.

I think you are right Coach. Simple fact is, we win when he plays!

Another thing I'd like to point out is his kicking for goal..

Reckon he's the best set shot at the club. If he's not giving off the sneaky handball out the back he's marking and goaling just like he did in the Collingwood game. If I had to choose a player to take the shot after the siren in a grand final, I'd choose Brad.. As soon as he plucks a mark you know that he's just going to go back and drill it home.

Goes alright our Brad. Bleeds the yellow and black.

Tucky goes close but Milzy would be the best set shot we have. I know when the ball gets kicked in his direction we will get a good result out of it :bow

Thanks for bringing up his blocks.. I never noticed that he puts on the handy blocks.. I'm watching a few replays as we speak.

Prepared to put his body on the line for his teammates is Brad.

I've just noticed something else that he does, he's pretty good at tapping over his shoulder to move the ball on to a teammate.. It's like he has eyes at the back of his head he does it so good.

Bet you guys didn't notice that one..

Better not be any disrespect to the Millernator here. I've stabbed pricks for less.
