I think Leigh Matthews summed it up really well early in the game, "the Tigers take a long time to put a team away". How many teams would have 20 more inside 50's than the other team and still only be ahead by 3 goals. Something has to be addressed with the forward structure, its just not working the way it is. Some passages of play tonight were just sheer comedy, 4 or 5 consecutive turnovers just isnt up to AFL standard, have never seen a Bombers team look so poor as they were tonight, if they had played a better team they would have lost by 200pts.
Its good to have a win but it just felt like the Bombers were packed up and ready to go home at quarter time. Was good to see O'Hanlon have a bit more involvement and Astbury kicking a goal will help with his confidence. We always say it but next season still looks promising if we can add a few more decent recruits and cut a few existing duds. A few more close ones going our way and its finals here we come (fingers crossed!
).
