you know what annoys me about the Blues figure.

Once they reach 50k members they will screaming to the AFL for MCG home games and will probably get it

This may happen just as we are about to challenge come 2015

They've already got Kernahan doing radio ads saying they want to move their home games to the 'G and they can only do that if the Blues reach 50k members. I've heard their current Docklands contract runs out next year and Carlton want to go from a 7-4 Docklands/MCG split to a 7-4 MCG/Docklands split. That would mean other Vic clubs will have to make up the shortfall to satisfy the AFL's contract of some many games (I think 44?) at Docklands.

I have a mate who supports the Dawks and he has been whinging all Summer that with their Tassie agreement they still have to play one home game at Docklands this season. ;D

If we can make finals this year and perform well in them, it means higher membership next year, more Friday night games hopefully home ones and thus making the AFL have a long hard look at our fixture and maximising our exposure at the G generating more $$$$ for us and the AFL. :thumbsup

We have to keep building members so the AFL don't shaft us.
The G has been our home ground since the 60s.

It's our right to stay there.

We're about 6700 ahead of this time last year. So still on target to get to 60k.

The equation is simple, time to step up and play finals, if we do, we will be the number 2 drawing and membership based club in the land and therefore be able to negotiate a better deal
