Dont like it, see it as a possible distraction for the current coaching staff. Imagine if we get given a tough draw at the start of the year, the media preasure will be "replace Hardwick with Chocko". Do we need that?

Choco a Tiger?

GREATER Western Sydney senior assistant coach Mark Williams is understood to be poised to leave the Giants to take up a development role at Richmond.

Reports suggest the Port Adelaide premiership coach, who still has a year left to run on his contract with the Giants, will join the Tigers and reconnect with Damien Hardwick next year.

That would mean Williams would forgo the final year of his contract as Kevin Sheedy’s right hand man at the Giants.

Williams was seen as the obvious successor for Sheedy once the former Essendon coach retires, which was tipped to be at the end of 2012.

However, the Giants last week renewed Sheedy's contract for another year.

In a major coup for the Tigers, Williams would take up a mentoring and teaching role with the club's young players.

Williams has also put his hand up for the Carlton top job following Brett Ratten's sacking last week, although Mick Malthouse is seen as odds-on favourite to assume that position.

Hardwick played under Williams in the Power's premiership win in 2004 and also started his coaching apprenticeship under the watchful eye of Williams.

If williams has put his hand up for the Carlton job, then surely he would not take on any other position until he has been told thanks but no thanks by Carlton.

Surely Carlton would only do that if they have an agreement with someone (Malthouse) already.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

The guy is bad news, main reason Port is where they have been for the last couple of years is because of him.

Port's woes are deeper than that. No doubt Williams' time was up after 10 years there but the board and admin they've had over the past 5 years have had no idea. Got heaps of their own people offside which has caused a loss of identity. Post-2004 premiership everyone that's any good has left to go elsewhere. The way they treated the Cornes brothers was a disgrace. Similar to what Melbourne did to James MacDonald. Opposition clubs have poached all of Port's best people in footy and Port couldn't do anything about it as they have no money.

Very good pick up!

Williams coaching Richmond VFL, great idea if that is the plan.

As Player Development Coach, very very good!

What you on about, MT? How have the Cornes brothers been treated? Kane is on a great contract for a battler. Who should Chadwick gotten a game ahead of last year? Carlile at FB? B&F Winner Jackson Trengove at CHB? Or our saviour Troy Chaplin as 3rd tall? And please don't tell me that he should have been played forward every week. :lol I love the Chad, but he started declining very quickly after 2007. James McDonald was one of Melbournes best players. Cornes was barely best 22.
I suppose the way we've treated Webberley is a disgrace. Disgraceful to play someone in the reserves when they're not good enough to play seniors.  :rollin

Could also attribute their run if fials and premiership to none other than choco, their current plight is attributed to being destitute, a club running on smel of an oily rag, since their peak at PA their quality people have been pillaged by hawthorn and more recently richmond leaving them with scrapings from bottom of barrel
