@ Dyer lovers.

How did he put us on the map?

What did he ACTUALLY do for the club apart from be a copper and get stacks of other coppers to join from the bush to play "dirty" footy to intimidate the opposition?

What accolades does he hold in football?

Seems Jack did what he wanted AT the club.

Why do so many blindly follow the legacy ?

Does being a premiership coach hold any significance Ox?

He did that

What about playing in premierships?

Those sort of things matter?

Best and fairest=JD Medal.

Captain - JD Number

Coterie = 17 members

Where is the room for new growth?

You're a smart guy, while I get your point have no idea why you'd bother with it.
A famous spinner once wanted to make similar point about an even more famous batsmen but held off because he realised the futility in easing one onto a monument.

It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I'll bite  ;D

Never saw him play Ox (retired 30 years before I was born lol) but he holds ...
* the club record of 6 B&Fs including 4 in a row 1937-40 while his first in 1932 was won after playing just 10 games (due to that famous knee injury) where he dominated collected 4 BOGs in the Brownlow.
* he was picked to play for Victoria after just 12 senior games.
* he was twice club leading goalkicker 1947-48.
* captained the club for 9 years and coached for 12 including the 1943 flag and runners-up in 1942 and 1944.
* He ended up playing in 7 GFs for two premierships and missed out on a 3rd due to that knee injury. Dyer was also best for Richmond with 30 disposals in the 1933 GF defeat.
* The drop punt is often attributed to having been invented by Dyer.
* His influence stretched to off-field issues at Richmond as well. The last public one standing up before the faithful at the SOS rally at the 'G in 1990.

His profile as a Richmond man lived on in the media working for 3KZ on match days, Ch 7's World of Sport on Sunday mornings and writing for the Truth. He gave the Club a voice in the media. His mangaling of the English language and metaphors were the stuff of legends  ;D:
"Bartlett's older than he's ever been before."
"Bamblett made a great debut last week, and an even better one today."
"Mark Lee's long arms reaching up like giant testicles."
"All young footballers want to do is sit around and smoke marinara"
"Essendon supporters are Collingwood supporters who can read and write"
"I hate Collingwood so much I don't watch B&W TV".

Dyer did a fair bit in his life Ox  ;)
