Hmmm do we really want a failed businessman as President of Richmond?

Property developer Bruce Monteath is poised to seek Bankruptcy Act protection
after failing to come up with a package to rescue his troubled Monteath Properties empire
from debts exceeding $30 million.
Pretty sure his business went into liquidation mid August 2012.

At least Bruce would know KBs name @ the B&F, unlike Bondy

From memory Gary March isn't exactly Warren Buffett
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Maybe not but I just find it strange that one month after his business is liquidated he is interested in becoming our president, must have a lot of free time now.  :cheers

The scent of money.
Everyone can smell it.

And want a piece of it.

No thanks Brucey.

We are the most stable we have been in a long long time.
Geez Andy D will be lining up at the door soon.

P.S. yes you were a great servant on the field and a premiership captain. Those things are written in the RFC history books and will be remembered for all time but this club needs stability.

I really hope March stays.

If anyone including Bruce want to be on the board then they go through the proper channels not attach themselves to the coat tails of someone who thinks they can buy their way onto the board.

Bruce on his own perhaps but coupled with Phil it is a resounding no from me

Nothing wrong with Cameron or March ATM.

Gifted Hardwick a contract extention that wasn't performance based.  If they can do that, how can they complain about board positions not being election based.   No real difference.  2 million donation to replace some duds.  How many finals have we played under March and Cameron's gifted leadership?

Malthouse would be coaching us now if it wasn't for these short sighted duds.

MM wouldnt be coaching Richmond. :lol

Yeah makes me wonder with Monteath and his failed business venture. :-\

Why come out now and spruike when we have announced we are debt free. :help

Why mention Balme when our debt free existence is being supplemented by expenditure in the footy dept. To get the nuffs who are still clinging to the message that Mick would have taken us to the mountain summit and to stick the boots into Dimma at every chance or to move their attentions to the Balme romance now that Mick is tied elsewhere. >:(

The board is stable we will have a stand alone reserves team in 2014 membership is at record levels and we are ready to launch into free agency.

Yes lets go back to jobs for the boys b/c he is an ex RFC premiership captain with a bloke who has no agenda and just feels that he has every right to buy his place on a board to run things a certain why that suits him and his cronies.

This board has done more in 3 years thanks to Benny Gale and March and these blokes want to use cloke and dagger and romance to bring the uncertainty over the place to distabilise a playing list that is ready to break out.

Anyone who has any genuine love for the RFC can see where this club is headed and how hard this board has worked to change the image and finances of this club. Leave it alone Bruce and let others have their glory. You had yours in 1980. Time to let those who have done the hard work and done the hard yards to rebuild this club gain their kudos with some on field success not some bloke I will call Mr NATO. No Action Talk Only.

Hutchy asked Caro about this on Footy Classified.

Caro reckons it will all eventually peter out. Gary March will be stepping down at the end of next year anyway. The Club is looking to work out a succession plan. Monteath may end up eventually on the Board but he won't be president.

How about Tim Mathieson Big Pappi? Maybe he can steal some of the Prime Minister's money and inject it into the RFC?

Seems like we missed the boat with this guy

It is believed a potential Monteath ticket includes a push to bring Neil Balme back to the club in a senior football role.

would've been pretty nice hey. I guess silent peggy and Dan the Man will do though
