Capital Punishment
Not religious myself but don't most of them books say an eye for an eye
Actually that all depends on what you want to take out of them books.
it first appears in a list a rules about retribution and punishment (which clearly shows that god does not have a problem with slavery, by the way)
Most of these specify whether the rule applies to the victim being a man, woman or both. in this case it is specifically a pregnant woman.
“When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman's husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
but if you prefer the modern hippy style to the old fire and brimstone kill them all, then JC said;
You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
you can pretty much take what you want out of them books
