Being an opportunistic crime this tragedy could have been prevented and lessons learned will hopefully save others. But in the end it was the fault of one person only and he should never walk among us again.

I also hope that the other lesson to be learned is if you are harrassed by some whacko in the street, like some women in the area have claimed to have been in the past few months go the the cops & report it.

It's been very disturbing to hear what's been on facebook and in the media - ie the number of women of saying they've been approached but they did nothing about it

As for the piece scum they've charged - he is the perfect reason to bring back capital punishment

Actually that all depends on what you want to take out of them books.

it first appears in a list a rules about retribution and punishment (which clearly shows that god does not have a problem with slavery, by the way)

Most of these specify whether the rule applies to the victim being a man, woman or both. in this case it is specifically a pregnant woman.
Quote
“When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman's husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine.  But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,  burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

but if you prefer the modern hippy style to the old fire and brimstone kill them all, then JC said;
Quote
You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

you can pretty much take what you want out of them books

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Personally, I'm a fan of Hammurabi's law code.

130. If a man violate the wife (betrothed or child-wife) of another man, who has never known a man, and still lives in her father's house, and sleep with her and be surprised, this man shall be put to death, but the wife is blameless.

195. If a son strike his father, his hands shall be hewn off.

196. If a man put out the eye of another man, his eye shall be put out.

197. If he break another man's bone, his bone shall be broken.

21. If any one break a hole into a house, he shall be put to death before that hole and be buried.

But in all seriousness, I support capital punishment.

I saw this on facebook, it looks a genuine article.

Xxxxxxxxxxxx

If it is the real deal, he'd been caught twice already!!

Police probably knew of him and that's how they found him.

Wayne there are many websites that have the same info and more but it is 'Sub judice' to display his 'priors in a Public forum. The other sites could and will take the hit as they are going in with their eyes open but OER should be spared the grief. Consider removing it.

there is no such article online. notice the article does not even have a date attached. FWIW the supposed author does work for the aussie.

Larry pickering on his website also makes unsubstantiated claims about this blokes history, detailing an assult case and comments from a magistrate supposedly reported in the geelong advertiser. Again no such article can be found online, nor are there any dates given so you can check the authenticity of him even appearing in the geelong magistrates court.

I cant see any problem with his priors being put into a public forum though, as long as they can be substantiated.

Holy crap. Just look up where she was found since a mate has property in the area. That area is in fact called Toolern Vale... And I drive past the location every time I head up there for drinks/band practice/winter bonfires etc etc. It's only a few properties away.

It's only about 35mins up the Calder once you peel off from the Tulla. Just a mere 10-15 after the race way. Depending which way you go as Black Hill rd has two entries but both make it look pretty remote and no chance of a jogger or some unlucky chump strolling past with their dog discovering a body.

Check this out Al: http://www.thenewsmanual.net/Resources/medialaw_in_australia_03.html. Under the second heading. Also, in the eyes of the Law this site is considered a 'Publication'. We shouldn't do anything that would give this snake an opportunity for a mistrial.

Because it can be seen to predjudicial to someone getting a fair trial

From a Vic Govt website

What is sub judice contempt?

Sub judice contempt is the common law offence of publishing material which has a tendency to interfere with the administration of justice while proceedings are sub judice; that is, ‘under a judge’. The rationale for the offence is to avoid a ‘trial by media’ by prohibiting the publication of material which might prejudge issues at stake in particular proceedings, or which might influence or place pressure on persons involved in the proceedings, including jurors, witnesses or potential witnesses, and parties to the proceedings. In deciding whether material is prejudicial, the court will attempt to balance the public interest in free speech with the public interest in ensuring a fair trial.

Last night my son called me to say that his wife (24yrs) attended a meeting (and drink) at a venue in Sydney Rd, last Friday night. She walked in the same vicinity that Jill did back to her car around 12am. I am still shaking at the thought.

I have been motivated to get involved in a movement to tighten surveillance, control and if needed capital punishment of registered Sex-Offenders. Having worked in the welfare sector dealing with this criminal sub-set I am convinced that rehabilitation does not work. They lesson or increase their activities on one basis only: opportunity.

A great book on this topic is Robert Hare's: Without Conscience: The Disturbing World of the Psychopaths Among Us. He also was the inventor of the: Psychopath test.
