Top 20 Tiger Trades of all time (RFC)
« on: October 08, 2012, 12:59:04 PM »
The RFC website is counting down the top 20 Tiger trades of all time.

No.20 is Ben Harrison

Played 74 games for us b/w 1996-2000. Came to us via a swap in late 1995 for Justin Murphy who went to Carlton.

Its not actually the trade player x for player y, it's only focusing on the player we received.

Jordy?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

No.19: Troy Simmonds

Troy Simmonds arrived at Richmond during the AFL’s 2004 trade period, in a three-way deal, which also saw Aaron Fiora depart Tigerland for St Kilda, and Heath Black return to Fremantle, following a stint with the Saints.

Do you mean bigger as in height or weight?

Or do you mean bigger as in dud player?

Cos I think Troy was more than serviceable for a few years until his knees were knackered.

Here are a few names that are worse:Pitura,  Jordi, and Thomson in recent years,  the trade war with the pies in the 1980s saw  us lose premiership players and gain John Annear, Craig Stewart, Wally Lovett, Neil Peart - I think Philip Walsh was in there too, how about Pitura in the 1970s- only cost us Teasdale.  Did you like the Clinton King trade - lost a ruckman but at least we got Fiora.

Troy is not worthy of making the list at all.
